@JohnDCook You probably know this and are being purposefully obtuse… but people were angry a no bid contract was awarded to a friend’s company that did a shit job at cleaning it. A nice tidy example for many other such cases of corruption that some people are also angry about.
@gregeganSF Would be interesting to see if there is a solution for intersection distance between a pair of ants with any 2 “wander angle” offsets away from one of the principal directions. It seems here you are assuming same initial wander angle but slightly offset in initial ant position?
@Jess_Riedel I agree but don’t like the premise. IMO you’d want to implement both methods for cross validation. Cost constraints would lead you to the design using GR since it doesn’t require the extra unspecified meas process. This may fall under OP’s qualifier to “correctly engineer” GPS.
@Jess_Riedel Interesting, I see. In most unmodeled error estimation problems, wouldn’t the performance only approach that of the agorithm that has knowledge of the physical model? Looks like there is a more recent Galileo paper https://t.co/ISNZvN5jqW
@Jess_Riedel@WKCosmo Recommend reading “principles of GNSS, inertial, and multisensor integrated navigation” by Paul Groves. He references Ashby and Spilker “introduction to relativistic effects on the Global Positioning System”. In appendix G, Groves asserts you need both SR and GR.
@WKCosmo Didn’t mean to imply the description was wrong, just that it wouldn’t be overly specific to use RF in the description if we’re talking about GNSS on Earth. Thank you for clarifying.
