🚨 NEW: Ohio police chief indicted on 70 child sex crimes - Faces up to 280 years IF convicted
Bethel Police Chief Chad Essert was taken arrested in Seminole, Florida, after a grand jury indicted him on 56 counts of sexual battery and 14 counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
The crimes occurred between 2005 and 2010 when Essert worked as a Young Marines instructor and teacher. The victim was a minor and one of his students.
Essert faces up to 280 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
He’s currently on administrative leave from his police chief job and is awaiting extradition back to Ohio.
