وفي لحظة من الخشوع لمشيئة الباري عزّ وجل في تقدير الأقدار يرتقي الراحل الكبير إلى منزلة خالدة بوصفه رائد دولة قطر الحديثة وصانع أمجادها.

بدء تشغيل مشروع غولدن باس للغاز الطبيعي المسال، أكبر استثمار قطري في أمريكا.

- الإنتاج بدأ من الخط الأول (طاقة إجمالية 18 مليون طن/سنوياً).

- مشروع مشترك بين قطر للطاقة (70%) وإكسون موبيل (30%).

حتى تعرف ضخامة هذا المشروع ، لو كان مشروع "غولدن باس" دولة مستقلة، لكان ترتيبه السادس عالمياً بين أكبر مصدري الغاز الطبيعي المسال في العالم، متفوقاً على قوى اقتصادية ومنتجين تاريخيين.
