It is unfortunate and deeply concerning that the Prime Minister of India has chosen to politicise a natural disaster without waiting for a proper investigation, especially while people in North Bengal are grappling with the aftermath of devastating floods and landslides.
When the entire local administration and police is engrossed in relief and rescue operations, the BJP leaders chose to go to the affected areas with a large convoy of cars and under security cover of the central forces and that too without any information to local police and administration. How can the state administration , local police or the TMC be blamed for the incident ?
The PM has blamed the TMC and the West Bengal Government outright without a shred of verified evidence, legal inquiry, or administrative report. This is not just a political low, it is a breach of the constitutional ethos the Prime Minister has sworn to uphold. In any democracy, the law must take its own course, and only due process can determine culpability - not a tweet from a political pulpit.
The incident occurred in a constituency where the people themselves have elected a BJP MLA. Yet the Prime Minister sees no contradiction in painting the incident as a reflection of TMC’s so-called “strongmanship.” Such sweeping, unsubstantiated generalisations are not only immature, but also, they are unbecoming of the highest office in the land.
Coming from a Prime Minister who visited Manipur only 964 days after it was engulfed in ethnic violence, the sudden concern for Bengal appears less like empathy and more like opportunistic political theatre.
Yes, we all condemn violence, unequivocally. But this is not the time for partisan chest-thumping. This is a time to help and heal.
It’s also evident that BJP is resorting to the tired North Bengal vs South Bengal narrative, hoping to polarise people ahead of elections. Let us be clear: Bengal is one - emotionally, culturally, and politically.
I urge the Prime Minister: Listen to the elected state government, not just your party colleagues. You are the Prime Minister of India, not just of BJP. Your responsibility lies in nation-building, not narrative-building.
At this critical hour, let us not deepen divides. Let us stand united beyond party lines, to serve the people who need us the most. Let’s leave politics for another day.
I am feeling extremely happy and proud to announce that within only 26 days, more than one crore people from all over Bengal have visited around 14,500 _Amader Para, Amader Samadhan_ camps, in order to have sustainable solutions to the various issues and problems in and around their localities. Congratulations to all for crossing the one-crore- mark so quickly!
This unprecedented and spontaneous participation of common men and women of Bengal in this socio- economic development initiative has further strengthened, and added more life to, the prevailing democratic and participatory good governance culture in this State.
I am taking this opportunity to convey my heartfelt appreciation to all the people's representatives, government officials & other employees as well as volunteers who are working relentlessly to translate this vision into reality, thus
reaching to the doorsteps of all the citizens of this State.
Besides, I also extend my sincere gratitude to each and every person of Bengal who has kept faith on us and relied upon our commitment.
We are deeply committed to reach out to every person in Bengal with various government benefits meant for them. Besides, I ensure that to shoulder further responsibility and to provide quick and meaningful solutions to your problems, our Ma- Maati- Manush government is always there and will be there in the days to come.
Tormenting Bengalis, then pretending to build their future — that’s @narendramodi.
@MamataOfficial laid Kolkata Metro’s foundation & planned its expansions.
Shame on a PM who measures success in headlines, selfies, and stolen legacies.

INDIA MUST NOT ENGAGE WITH PAKISTAN in any sphere. The only engagement we should have with Pakistan is on the BATTLEFIELD and the only prize worth WINNING is Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
For decades Pakistan has exported terror, bled our nation by causing irreparable loss to Indian lives and families. And yet, every now and then, we hear calls to “keep politics out of sport.”
NO! THIS HAS TO STOP.
When a nation wages a proxy war, there is no “neutral ground.” THERE IS NO CRICKET PITCH WISE ENOUGH TO WASH OFF THE BLOOD OF OUR MARTYRS.
Our TRICOLOUR 🇮🇳 flies high not because of a bat and ball, but because of the unmatched courage and valour of our armed forces.
We honour our cricketers, and I deeply respect the game. But as a nation, we revere our soldiers. Those who stand guard while we cheer in stadiums, those who bleed while others play.
Extending HANDSHAKE TO A NATION THAT FIRES BULLETS ACROSS OUR BORDERS IS NOT DIPLOMACY- ITS A BLOODY BETRAYAL!
Let JUSTICE, NOT ENTERTAINMENT, BE OUR GOAL. If there is to be a match with Pakistan, let it be fought at the LoC and let PoJK BE THE ONLY TROPHY we seek.
ANYTHING LESS IS AN INSULT to our MARTYRS and an INJUSTICE AND BETRAYAL to the victims of PAHALGAM. PERIOD!
Have been increasingly receiving reports of detentions of and atrocities on our Bengali-speaking people from different districts of West Bengal in Gurgaon, Haryana. West Bengal police is receiving these reports from Haryana police in the name of requests for identity searches.
Have been separately and increasingly receiving reports from other States like Rajasthan etc about illegal "pushbacks" of West Bengal citizens with all proper documents to Bangladesh directly!! Our officers have received copies of their appropriate documents!
There are tortures and tortures on hapless poor Bengali workers from West Bengal in these States.
I am shocked to see these terrible atrocities of double-engine governments on Bengalis in India. What do you want to prove? This is atrocious and terrible. We are not going to tolerate this.
Stop this linguistic terror.
ভাষা সন্ত্রাস বন্ধ হবে, কি হবে না?
.@BJP4India has made an OPEN ADMISSION that anyone saying "Joy Bangla" is a Bangladeshi.
Here’s a quick reminder that their own Party President and Union Minister @JPNadda has said "Joy Bangla". And so has the President of India, Droupadi Murmu.
Should they be worried about losing their citizenship too 🤔
As a true step towards participatory governance and a self-reliant Bangla, Smt. @MamataOfficial has announced Amader Para, Amader Samadhan – a unique, one-of-its-kind initiative that places citizens at the heart of governance.
This is a citizen-centric revolution that gives you the direct power to decide and prioritise the needs that impact you the most.
How it works:
👉🏻 Every booth will receive ₹10 lakh
👉🏻 You, the people from each of the ~80,000 booths, will voice your opinions and collectively decide how to utilise the ₹10 lakh in your booth
👉🏻 Camps will be organised, grouping 3 booths together
👉🏻 Duare Sarkar desks will also be present in these camps for personal grievance redressal
This is unprecedented in the history of India. For the first time ever, you, the people of Bengal, will decide what is best for your para. This is what we mean by Maa, Mati, Manush Sarkar, where YOU hold the power, where your priorities become our priorities, enabling true grassroots-level empowerment.

I am deeply disturbed by the alarming news of harassment emerging from Jai Hind Colony in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi — a settlement predominantly inhabited by Bengalis who build the city as part of its unorganised workforce.
Their water supply was reportedly cut on orders from the BJP-led government. Electricity meters were confiscated and power was abruptly cut the day before yesterday. Residents also claim Delhi Police, backed by RAF personnel, blocked private water tankers they had arranged and paid for. A forced eviction is currently underway despite the matter being sub-judice following another transgression last December by the Delhi police. How can we claim to be a democratic republic if the basic rights to shelter, water, electricity are being trampled upon?
There are over 1.5 crore migrant workers in Bengal who live with dignity. But the same cannot be said for BJP-ruled states, where Bengalis are being treated as infiltrators in their own country. Speaking Bengali does not make one a Bangladeshi. These individuals are as much citizens of India as anyone else, regardless of what language they speak.
Having failed in their attempts to deprive Bengalis in West Bengal, BJP is now exporting their Bangla-Birodhi agenda to other parts of the country in a strategic and systemic manner. Disturbing reports have emerged from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh, where Bengali-speaking individuals are facing targeted persecution. And now, this pattern of hostility has reached even the national capital.
We will not remain silent while people from Bengal are treated like trespassers in their own country. Bengal stands in solidarity with every oppressed voice. We will raise this issue in every possible forum.
Here goes my letter today to the Vice Chairperson, NITI Aayog, New Delhi, expressing my unequivocal disapproval of their grave lapse in mapping West Bengal!
This is nothing but an insidious attempt to introduce NRC through the backdoor in Bengal, a state where BJP has neither the mandate nor the moral right to govern. They are targeting Bengali-speaking citizens to create fear and insecurity, and attempting to replicate Assam's Detention Camp Model. If this is the extent of BJP’s arrogance without even having a foothold in Bengal, one can only imagine the dystopia they would unleash if ever entrusted with power.
This is no longer just a political battle. It is a fight to preserve the democratic, pluralistic, and inclusive ethos of our Constitution. We must not, and will not, allow BJP’s divisive, anti-people, and authoritarian agenda to take root in Bengal.
Bengal will resist. Bengal will not bow.

I am shocked and deeply disturbed to learn that the Foreigners Tribunal in Assam has issued an NRC notice to Uttam Kumar Brajabasi, a Rajbanshi, resident of Dinhata in Cooch Behar for over 50 years. Despite furnishing valid identity documents, he is being harassed on suspicion of being a "foreigner/illegal migrant."
This is nothing short of a systematic assault on democracy. It is proof that the ruling BJP dispensation in Assam is attempting to implement NRC in Bengal, where it holds no power or jurisdiction. A premeditated attempt is being made to intimidate, disenfranchise, and target marginalised communities. This unconstitutional overreach is anti-people, and exposes BJP’s dangerous agenda of bulldozing democratic safeguards and erasing the identity of Bengal's people.
This alarming situation calls for urgent unity among all Opposition parties to stand up against BJP’s divisive and oppressive machinery. Bengal will not stand by as the constitutional fabric of India is torn apart.
I am delighted to share that West Bengal has achieved a historic milestone in agricultural production. In the year 2024 to 2025, our farmers produced 256.53 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, the highest ever recorded in any year. This reaffirms Bengal’s position as the leading paddy producing state in the country.
Despite facing adversities such as Cyclone Dana and widespread flooding in several districts, the unyielding spirit of our farmers, backed by people-first policies like Krishak Bandhu, Bangla Shasya Bima, farm mechanisation, khajna waiver, Sufal Bangla, and assured procurement has made this achievement possible.
Since 2011, Bengal has seen a quantum leap in agricultural productivity, with maize, pulses, oilseeds, and aromatic rice witnessing multi-fold growth.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our farmers, sharecroppers, tenant farmers, agricultural labourers, and all my brothers and sisters involved in the farming sector. They're the backbone of our nation and their contributions are unmatched and deeply cherished.
❗TRIGGER WARNING ❗
.@BJP4India-ruled states are a LIVING HELL for women! In Narsinghpur, a Class 12 student was SAVAGELY MURDERED in broad daylight inside a government district hospital. Slapped, slammed to the ground, pinned down, and her throat slit, she bled out mere meters from doctors and guards who stood idly by.
@DrMohanYadav51 is an UTTER CATASTROPHE, presiding over a state where such barbaric crimes are normalised. And PM @narendramodi, the ENABLER-IN-CHIEF, bears the stain of this BLOODBATH.
Where is @NCWIndia’s delegation? Where is the BJP’s 'fact-finding' team? Where is the Godi Media’s outrage?
