Nehru would have undoubtedly been elected PM in 1947 had an election been held that year.
And had he not died in office in 1964, he would have most certainly remained in the top job until 1967 — that would have been a 20-year uninterrupted run as PM.
But — and this is an important 'but' — he became prime minister when India was practically a one-party democracy, with no real rival to the Congress 'system'.
Narendra Modi, by contrast, not only became PM in a highly combative and contested polity, but also won an absolute majority for the first time in 40 years — and even expanded it five years later.
In many senses, Modi's tenure has been more difficult than Nehru's ever was.
> No seatbelt - fine
> No helmet - fine
But…
> Potholes on road - No fine
We need a "Public Accountability App" where we can upload photos of potholes, garbage and the officials working in that department should pay a fine.
@NitinNaik5@CSMIA_Official The staff at lounge reception said it’s mandatory (if one wants to access the lounge using a credit card). Hence my question.
@CSMIA_Official Thank you for the prompt response. My question was -
a) Is it mandatory to use the app ?
b) if so - why ? Credit card verification can be done through POS machines too, so why push passengers to download an app ?
Not everyone wants to live in a bubble and want 10 min delivery.
I want to go out for a long walk in massive green spaces. Sit for sometime there. Have a sandwich and a coffee. And want to come back home walking.
Without having to
1. Fight stray dogs.
2. Tolerate continuous honking.
3. Walking on Shitty non existent footpaths.
4. Inhale smoke from polluted vehicles.
And many other things.
A middle class person in the west will be able to do this without even being rich.
In India you can go fuck yourself if you demand these things 🤣
@KanojiaPJ Thanks for highlighting that FDI Inflows rose from 2023-24 levels. Appreciate your acknowledgment for the work done by Indian government. Kam se kam criticism to theek se karna seekh lo yaar
Broadcast message from #Congress IT cell: project #RahulGandhi as cool, GenZ icon, future prime minister. Outcome - see the pictures. And then they can #Dhurandhar a propaganda.
Now the substance: since when Scuba Diving, Martial Arts have become requirements to be a PM. Bro, give us your vision for the country. Pick up an administrative role - and show what you can do on ground. Congress has govt in Himachal, become CM and make Himachal the best state for tourism. You are in power in Karnataka, become CM there and bring up one more Bengaluru. But without any of that, why should anyone vote for you - because you hold pilot license, certified scuba diver, trained in martial arts ?
The only thing he cannot do is take any responsibility. Why doesn’t he becomes CM of any congress ruled state and show us his administrative capabilities.
Godi media was required bcz of Gandhi media. And your tweet is an example of that.
How does skydiving, climbing mountains, martial make him a politician which the county can trust. If he was genuinely interested in public service - he could have take up responsibilities in UPA-1 or UPA-2. Par nahin - sahab ko legislation’s faadne ka drama karna tha. After all legislation banane aur implementation mein mehnat lagti hai. Sahab chill kaise karte fir.
@KanojiaPJ@Hashimmansuri1 So you agree politics = gundagardi. Then many generations of the coolest leader of opposition were indulged in gundagardi. They after all were founding fathers of Indian political system
Nothing will change Richa ji. Just read some where - the Goan club owners (which had a similar incident) are out on bail. Come 6th June, there will be news of CJP, then India’s test match, and something else and so on.. life will go on… MCD, DDA, Delhi Police, MLA, MLC.. sabki Dukaan chalti rahegi. It’s easy for our Hon’ble PM to say, na khaunga, na khaane dunga but on-ground reality is very different. It’s a rotten system and unless drastic measures are taken by the top, nothing will change.
@CMODelhi@ashishsood_bjp Madam, please sack the concerned DDA and MCD officials. Any premises cannot operate without such officials being complicit. The owner alone is not responsible for this.
Absolutely - until and unless the concerned MCD, Delhi Police and DDA officials are not sacked, this will end up being one more case of a face saving enquiry and लीपा पोती . While I don’t have hope that it will happen, but still pleading that Hon’ble CM, LG and PM take this seriously and don’t just stop at suspension or transfers. People should lose their jobs and there should be vigilance enquiry on their assets and income. These corrupt officials have made a mockery of urban planning.
The hotel Flourish Stays in Malaviya Nagar, where the fire incident has killed 21 people so far, had permission for only 6 rooms but was operating 25. It didn't have fire safety clearance either.
No surprises. I'm sure 90% of hotels operate like this. MCD knows, they come for inspections, take their cut, and leave. It's only after such tragedies that these irregularities make the news.
Will the police arrest any MCD officials responsible for ensuring that hotels operate as per the norms? No way. They'll probably arrest the hotel's restaurant cooking staff because the fire apparently started in the kitchen.
