I’m not anti-GLP-1, but even very kind naturally thin people somehow don’t have the theory of mind to understand that being fat IS part of my identity

How could it not be? For my entire life, it has affected the way people treat me: the assumptions they make about my intelligence and capabilities, the snide comments about my sexual desirability. I am functionally invisible to most people. I often cannot find clothes in stores despite being the size of the average American woman. Every day, I see casually cruel comments about bodies that look like mine; people on here tell me my (thin) husband should leave me or is cheating on me

Regardless of the fact that I eat well and am very healthy (and I am; I’m not saying all fat people are), strangers feel very comfortable making wild assumptions about me

I think it’s impossible to *not* be shaped by that. It’s not a primary definer of my Self, but yeah, it’s on the list!

Idk if I’ll ever take a GLP-1. I’m glad they exist and am happy for everyone who is having a good experience with them. But strangers on the internet don’t actually give a shit about my health; they just hate looking at fat people and have a new Wellness Industry excuse to be mean to people like me
