@michael_merrick But when talking to children/parents who may need a 'proper telling off' I've found making all concerned realise the moral compass is what needs addressing. Values that benefit the child/young person are the values society will appreciate, and, one day, their own kids will see.

@michael_merrick on my personal values, however 30 years of teaching, at least half as a parent, with experiences of families all along the wealth/poverty continuum. There has to be a universal language on which support is based. This may not be a short-term solution to the cocksure teenager
