Your fridge could be the silent reason your power bill is high.
In Kenya, fridge efficiency is rated in stars ⭐So more stars mean less electricity used.
I recently switched from a 1⭐ fridge to a 2⭐ fridge and the difference is real.
My current fridge uses about 359 kWh/year meaning lower monthly tokens without changing my lifestyle. Tokens worth 1000 can take me 13 days now.
Most people focus on buying price, but ignore running cost.
A cheaper fridge can cost you more than you can imagine.
Still relishing the wonderful discussion from 𝗖𝗫 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 in the unscripted conversation on Dr. Kalebi Labs (DKL) Customer Experience Reflection 🥳
Below is the transcript excerpt from the amazing segment of the video 🎥 where DKL is mentioned. I’ve watched to it on repeat and asked my DKL team to likewise listen and learn the importance of intentional measures for better customer experience 🙌🏾

Two months ago, I had to take my dad for medical tests. The doctor referred us to Dr. Kalebi Labs (DKL) - and honestly, I expected the usual: long queues, paperwork, delays… basically losing the whole day.
Because you know how these doctor runs go. You get there, you’re told: put the form here, in this tray… then someone will pick it up - and it becomes a whole process.
So I was like, you know what? Let’s just go straight to DKL.
And from the moment we arrived, it was completely different.
We were welcomed at the door, ushered in immediately, and the reception was genuinely customer-friendly.
They asked clearly: “What tests are you here for? Who is here for the test?” And we were guided through the process with so much ease.
The experience felt almost paperless - because by the time we got there, they had already received the doctor’s referral email, and the tests were already in their system. So it was simply paying… and proceeding straight to sample collection.
Then, as the samples were being taken, they said: “By the way, we have an app. Please download it. I’ll show you how it works.”
They helped me download the DKL app on-site, and I discovered something that really impressed me: you can add your family members - your kids, siblings, parents - anyone you’re a primary caregiver for, and track all of them in one place.
After the tests, I asked: “How soon will the results be ready?” And they were like: “Check the app.”
The app shows the exact sample collection time and the expected turnaround time for every test - and if you have 10 or 12 tests, each one has its own timeline.
And let me tell you - the results came exactly when promised. Like clockwork. No delays. No chasing anyone. No missing reports.
And then there’s the best part: because you know how you get lab results and you start wondering, “Am I sick? Am I dying? Am I okay?”
They even have a simple color-coded system:
🟢 Green is normal
🟠 Amber is borderline
🔴 Red is significantly off
So even a non-medical person gets clarity while waiting for the doctor’s full interpretation.
And honestly, that’s what impressed me most.
Everything they said they would do, they did - at the exact time they said they would.
To me, that’s the mark of someone who studied the Kenyan healthcare landscape, understood the pain points around time, follow-up, missing results - and built a solution that addresses the patient journey end-to-end.
The drought in Mandera, Wajir & Garissa is devastating — families, livestock and livelihoods are on the brink. We urgently call on the national and county govts to coordinate immediate mitigation: water trucking, emergency food distributions, veterinary support & cash transfers.
