This MHC order is a major setback for party hoppers such as C. Vijayabaskar and M.R. Vijayabaskar, who resigned their MLA posts. They will now have to wait until the legal dispute is resolved before any by-election can be held.

It is also a minor setback for @TVKVijayHQ, whose party was looking to cross the 118-mark on its own. However, it poses no immediate threat to the stability of the government, which continues to enjoy a comfortable majority.

The order could also encourage similar petitions in future cases, with election petitions being used to delay by-elections when elected representatives resign and switch parties.

Many fence sitting MLAs from AIADMK who want to join TVK may think 100 times now.

கரூரில் முதல்வர் விஜய் பங்கேற்ற நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் பத்திரிகையாளர்களுக்கு அனுமதி மறுக்கப்பட்டிருப்பதற்கு புதுக்கோட்டை மாவட்ட பத்திரிகையாளர் சங்கம் கடும் அதிருப்தியைத் தெரிவிக்கிறது.

சட்டப்பேரவைத் தேர்தலுக்குப் பிறகு, முதல்வராகி முதல் முறையாக தவெக தலைவர் சி. ஜோசப் விஜய் அவர்கள், வெள்ளிக்கிழமை கரூர் வந்து சென்றுள்ளார். முற்பகல் நிகழ்ச்சி தவெக கட்சி நிகழ்ச்சியாகவும், பிற்பகல் நிகழ்ச்சி மாவட்ட ஆட்சியர் அலுவலகத்தில் நடைபெற்ற அரசு நிகழ்ச்சியாகவும் நடந்து முடிந்தது.

இவ்விரு நிகழ்ச்சிகளுக்காகவும் தனித்தனியே பத்திரிகையாளர்களுக்கு அடையாள அட்டைகள் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. முதல் நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு உள்ளூர்- பசுபதிபாளையம் காவல் நிலைய ஆய்வாளர் முத்திரையுடன் கையொப்பமிடப்பட்ட அடையாள அட்டையும், அடுத்த நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு மாவட்ட செய்தி மக்கள் தொடர்பு அலுவலர் கையொப்பமிட்ட அடையாள அட்டையும் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

ஆனால், இரு நிகழ்ச்சிகளிலும் பத்திரிகையாளர்கள் அனுமதிக்கப்படவில்லை. முதல் நிகழ்ச்சியில் உள்ளே சென்று அமர்ந்தவர்களை மாவட்டக் காவல் கண்காணிப்பாளர் தலைமையிலான போலீஸார் வந்து வலுக்கட்டாயமாக வெளியேற்றியுள்ளனர்.

அத்தோடு நிற்காமல், பத்திரிகையாளர்கள் மீண்டும் உள்ளே வந்துவிடக் கூடாது என்பதற்காக- அவர்கள் ஏற்கெனவே வந்த வழியையும் தகரம் வைத்து அடித்து மூடியிருக்கிறார்கள்.

இதுமிகுந்த ஜனநாயகத்தின் நான்காம் துணை அவமானப்படுத்தும், அதிர்ச்சிகரமான, வருத்தம் தரும் நடவடிக்கையாகும். இதனை புதுக்கோட்டை மாவட்ட பத்திரிகையாளர் சங்கம் வன்மையாக கண்டிக்கிறது.

ஏற்கெனவே திருச்சியில் நடைபெற்ற நிகழ்ச்சியிலும் கூட பத்திரிகையாளர்கள் வேறொரு அரங்கில் அமர வைக்கப்பட்ட சம்பவம் நடந்திருக்கிறது.

எனவே, முதல்வர் விஜய் Actor Vijay Chief Minister of Tamil Naduஅவர்களும், தவெக தலைமையும் என்ன நினைக்கிறார்கள் என்பதை வெளிப்படையாக அறிவிக்க வேண்டும்.

Seeing him in a black shirt today, I expected the speech to focus on Karur tragedy, without much politics, but some governance based achievements.
