Tihar Jail. That is where CJP leaders @SauravDassss and @AshutoshRanka have been sent after the Jantar Mantar protest.
How much further will Modi and Shah go to shield Gyanesh Kumar?
Fascist rulers will go to any length to silence dissent. India is already witnessing it.
There is serious concern for these two young men’s safety in custody. The authorities must answer for it.
Release them immediately.

“We will stay united and together take forward the movement to protect democracy and reclaim Jantar Mantar.”
SFI Joint Secretary Aishe Ghosh addressed the media today at Press Club in New Delhi, along with AISF President Viraaj Devang, AISA President Neha Bora, CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke, Supreme Court lawyer Prashant Bhushan, actor and activist Prakash Raj, RTI and Save Democracy activist Anjali Bharadwaj, and others.
As long as there is an ounce of energy left in our bodies, we will fight until the very last day.
Comrade Gopika, on her 13th day of indefinite hunger strike.
"The Election Commission is not just Gyanesh Kumar; there are two other Election Commissioners as well. So, what exactly is their role?
During the SIR issue in Bihar, I visited the Election Commissioners along with a delegation of opposition party leaders. Even then, Gyanesh Kumar was the only one who spoke. Despite me directly asking for the opinions of the other two, there was no response. They simply lack the courage to publicly express any dissent—and even if they were to consider it, the first thing that would pop into their mind is the ED and other agencies ..."

It’s Day 3 of Ashu and Saurav’s illegal arrest.
Two young men who gave up their comfortable lives to fight for change are now languishing in jail.
Imagine being jailed in your own country for waving your own national flag. 🇮🇳
In my conversation with @NEETAS11 of @IndianExpress , she asked whether LOP Rahul Gandhi is hogging the limelight of the SIR protest. My immediate reaction to that specific question was that it seems designed to create a wedge between INDIA bloc allies.
The objective of this protest is to reclaim democracy in our nation—that is the larger cause, and it is the only cause. We, the INDIA bloc allies, joined hands not because it will fetch us political dividends. My party, the CPI(M), was even offered the Prime Minister post in the past and we decided not to shoulder it. We are not craving power; more than that, we stand by certain core ideals, and as a CPI(M) worker, I am proud of that.
Under Amit Shah, the police in the national capital are inflicting physical and mental trauma at an alarming level on brave student and youth protesters who are risking their safety to defend our democracy. On 12 October, the CPI(M) had held a press conference at which many victims of police brutality shared first-hand accounts of police actions during the protest demonstrations in Delhi. Fidal Royas was one of them. The doctors are now saying that he may require ear surgery.
Many others have also reported that the police are targeting people, even bystanders, who document police violence. Father Biju Xavier, the vicar of Sacred Heart Cathedral Church, was detained by the police for recording such an incident. Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas was addressing the media on police action when he was dragged and shoved into a police bus, and later assaulted inside it.
The actions of the Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces are unlawful. There is a chain of command that has resulted in the impunity shown by police personnel. The rule of law requires that this be investigated and that all those responsible for these actions be held accountable and punished. But does the rule of law operate in Delhi today?
History has not forgotten those who once opposed our Tricolor in favour of the saffron flag. Seeing our students and youth wield that very same Tiranga today as a weapon of protest must be a bitter pill for the RSS and BJP to swallow.
Waving the Tiranga is not a crime!
Lehra Do Tiranga!
"The passing of Padma Shri Cheruvayal Raman, a living symbol of Kerala’s traditional agricultural heritage and biodiversity conservation, is a profound loss to the entire state.
He dedicated his life to preserving traditional paddy agriculture. I had the opportunity to meet and speak with him in person on several occasions. With no desire for personal gain, he worked tirelessly to preserve Kerala’s agricultural heritage and pass it on to the younger generation, gaining international recognition for his efforts. The nation honoured his contributions by conferring upon him the Padma Shri.
I pay my heartfelt tributes to his memory and share in the grief of his family and loved ones."
