Yesterday, at United Community School Ilorin, we had our first outreach without additional fundraising (thanks to our members!). We facilitated a menstrual health workshop for all the students & provided 50 girls with period packs containing 2 reusable pads & a period calendar.
I’m forever making du’a that Allah grants me my beautiful ending, the dream career, financial freedom, sincere friendships, a loving family, peace, love, and every blessing that is good for me. May what’s written for me be better than what I’ve imagined. Ameen.
i can’t wait to get married, and be dressing up for eid with my husband, going to the family house together, taking pictures, and just sharing those little moments together, ugh.🥹🥹🥹
I saw a post that said, “Did you really think Allah would give you a heart like that and not create someone who could love you the same way?” and it genuinely brought tears to my eyes.
Because sometimes being soft and sensitive feels heavy…
For my sisters who will find themselves on their period on the day of Arafah, here is what to do and how to achieve the maximum blessings of the day In Sha Allah:
Please rt, thank you! 🤍
At Roehampton University yesterday, we spoke about the recent challenges facing international students and practical steps needed to excel against all odds.
Some of the things we talked about,
1. Start with the end in mind.
Know all the employers recruiting in your line of work. Filter by the ones on the sponsors list. Set a reminder to check their career pages regularly. Read the job descriptions and do a skills audit.
2. Get the highest grade possible
Sit at the front/engage in class. Be visible to your lecturers. Use up all the resources you have paid for in school.
3. Attend events. London is the home of a lot of global career events. Check Linkedin, Eventsbrite and Luma. Something is always happening. Increase your surface area of luck by showing up in person.
4. Communication and Public speaking. Start a speaking club or join one. In a world where AI is writing CVs, your performance at interviews will be the gamechanger. Be prepared.
5. Be international in your search. London may be your step to a great career in other countries. Dont limit yourself.
This journey is not going to be easy, but if we stick together and support each other, we will succeed.
A huge thank you to the Society of African Students for putting together such an excellent event.
The atmosphere, organisation, and quality of discussions were engaging and impactful.
My biggest fear rn isn't death. It's the fear of praying five times a day and realizing on the day of judgement that none of it was accepted 🥹
Yah Allah, accept all our acts of ibadah🥹
I highly recommend finding yourself a clingy (healthy) lovey dovey partner who's always super excited about you. Life is too short to spend it with someone who acts like showing love is a chore.
The worst part of applying for jobs is having to write cover letters explaining my deep passion for a company I had no idea existed until I saw the job listing 2 hours ago😭😭😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
