The needs, dreams and hopes of the people in Gaza are the same as all people:
For health, food, water, shelter, safety and peace.
For a better future for their children.
The suffering we see now canโt be the solution.
Decades of war have delivered nothing but division and destruction.
I call on the international community to support a ceasefire NOW, and to work on a political solution to establish a lasting peace.
At the same time, I call on the leaders on all sides of the conflict to use the shared suffering of this crisis as an opportunity to make peace.
We have lost touch with our staff in Gaza, with health facilities, health workers and the rest of our humanitarian partners on the ground.
This siege makes me gravely concerned for their safety and the immediate health risks of vulnerable patients.
We urge immediate protection of all civilians and full humanitarian access.
