The thing about the marathon record is it’s been broken by a Kenyan.
Before that, it was held by another Kenyan (Kiptum, RIP), who broke another Kenyan’s record (Kipchoge) who broke his own record but not before breaking another Kenyan’s record (Kimetto)
Etc. 😂
We’re going to need a few days to recover from this one… 😮💨
2 men under 2 hours. 3 men breaking the world record.
We have officially entered the new era of marathon running 🫳🎤
Heartbreaking news: the largest big tusker elephant in Kenya has died.
I feel so fortunate that I got to see Craig in the wild.
He was 54 years old and, thankfully, died of natural causes.
It’s safe to assume that Kenyan authorities have already removed his tusks to keep them from poachers.
Sadly, there are few big tuskers left.
Fly high, Craig!

I hate when I’m wrapping my hijab and it doesn’t cooperate with me and suddenly turns into Larry Madowo. “My job is to cover you accurately, not positively.”
Excellent delivery by @JohnSibiOkumu 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Before the world had maps,
there was Kenya.
Before language,
there was rhythm.
Before time had a name,
there were footsteps across this red earth.
This is not just a place.
It’s a pulse.
It’s the exhale of the wild.
The whisper of ancestors in the wind.
The drumbeat in your chest you thought was yours alone.
Come here and unlearn
Trade your inbox for a horizon.
Trade reception bars for baobab trees.
Come walk barefoot through the origin of everything
life, flavour, fire, soul.
Because Kenya is not a destination.
It’s the birthplace of awe.
The homeland of wonder.
The reset the modern world forgot it needed.
You don’t visit Kenya.
You remember it.
You return to it.
You wake up in it.
This is Magical Kenya. The Origin of Wonder.
Welcome back.

Today we lost a giant Somali artist. A vocalist, an actress, a folk dancer, and a performer who was second to none. Khadiija Maxamuud Faahiye “Qalanjo” will be immensely missed.
For the fourth Catalytic Capital Training session: Unlocking Capital for Greater Impact in Africa, Aakif Merchant, Director of Engagement & Capacity Building at Convergence, led an engaging discussion connecting catalytic capital to real-world financing gaps in emerging markets.
