We applied the method to study ZNF598, an E3 ligase that detects collided ribosomes. We found that ZNF598 can detect ribosomes beyond the leading one in the queue. It is a limiting factor in ribosome associated quality control.
Very proud that the thesis work of Ana De La Cruz from @BiophysicsJHMed @JHU_Mol_Biophys is published on @embojournal. Great collaboration with @GreenLabJHMI. We visualize mRNA, translation and a regulatory protein in cells. https://t.co/wuYLZTgoFo
My lab at Brown University is hiring a postdoctoral fellow! We develop single-molecule imaging technologies to dissect the spatial regulation of gene expression. For more information about my lab, visit https://t.co/iBjwFlNjvd Please help spread the word! #RNA#imaging
The latest designs of a new Life Sciences Building on the Johns Hopkins East Baltimore medical campus were recently shared with city planners. https://t.co/r1eix1DYMX
Groundbreaking on the Life Sciences Building is anticipated for the summer of 2025.
Meet Jeremy Nathans, the 2024 World Laureates Association Prize (#WLAPrize) laureate in Life Science or Medicine.
As a professor of molecular biology and genetics, neuroscience, and ophthalmology at the @JohnsHopkins School of Medicine, he has made groundbreaking contributions to the discovery of genes, regulation and plasticity underlying human color vision.

Bloomberg Philanthropies gives $1B to Johns Hopkins University.
This gift makes the School of Medicine tuition-free for students from families earning under $300,000, and students from families earning up to $175,000 will receive a full ride, including living expenses.
Excited to share that our paper on transcription repression after DNA double-strand break is online. Great collaboration with @taekjip and @yliu_UofU, spearheaded by Shuaixin He @BiophysicsJHMed @BCMB_JHMI https://t.co/lqyWqqqG9n
We used very-fast CRISP to induce single DSB and observed transcription repression in minutes. The repression propagates along chromosome for hundreds of kb. Interestingly, the rapid repression doesn't depend on H2AK119 ubiquitination, but relies on proteasome to remove RNAPolII.
We had a great week of Fun with Science Summer Camp. 16 5th and 6th graders from Baltimore area attended this annual event supported by @BiophysicsJHMed and Career for Science and Medicine. 11 Hopkins lab and @Evident_LS organized fun and engaging activities.
