MORNING UPDATE - GARVAGHY ROAD - FRIDAY (DAY 13). 🪉🇮🇪

🔘 Still no decision from the Court of Appeal... If it does not arrive today, will that leave yet another weekend of uncertainty & tension here ...? Why do the ordinary residents have to be put through this...?

🔘 Political pressure mounts -A number of Party Leaders in Dáil Éireann have written to British PM Burnham asking for the March to be stopped. Mary Lou McDonald (Sinn Fein) was joined by Ivana Bacik (Labour) Richard Boyd Barrett (PBP), Peadar Tóibín (Aontu) & Michael Collins (Independents Ireland).

🔘 This is going to be a weekend of protests and rallies. Internationally, a solidarity protest is being held at the Famine Memorial in Philadelphia on Saturday lunchtime. This will be a significant gathering. Philly has a big Irish population. 🇺🇸🇮🇪. There have already been protests in New York City, San Francisco etc...🇺🇸

🔘 In Australia, there have been protests in both Melbourne & Sydney and a solidarity statement from the Maritime Union of Australia 🦘🇮🇪

🔘 Closer to home, a protest will be held today at the NIO Offices in central Belfast. 12.30pm.

Tomorrow (Saturday) however is the big day. Solidarity Rallies will be held at 12pm at;

Newry Town Hall 🪉🇮🇪

🪉 First Minister & Sinn Fein Vice President, Michelle O'Neill will be interviewed about the crisis on the Late Late Show on RTE Television in Dublin tonight at 9.35pm.

🔘 The Police have now began taking action against Politicians and Party Reps who blocked the Garvaghy Road. Gerry Carroll of People Before Profit and a number of Sinn Fein Reps have been notified.

This is a throwback to the old Police State here. It won't matter though... The people will vote in their thousands next year for all those who stood alongside the residents. ✊🇮🇪

🔘 Political Unionism continues to vent. It's three Party Leaders (Robinson, Burrows & Allister) are now indistinguishable... A backward trio of right wing populist fundamentalists who yearn for the days of past Unionist control.

Those days are gone forever though... And they are never, ever, coming back...

Yesterday was very wet on the Garvaghy Road but the music continued last night under tents with a few young Irish Dancers...
