@pukicho I do low poly, most of my textures I actually model and render in blender, then I do small adjustments in aseprite or with the texture painting mode
i made a bunch of very weird looking textures for this level! But through the magic of the combiner they make six super shiny seashells (try saying this one a few times)
It wouldn't be possible to have a texture of that size with that many colors, but using the magic of the โจCombinerโจ, we can make this fancy looking fruit!

on the N64, a full 32-bit color texture can be at most 32x32 pixels. The console handles textures up to 64x128, but as the resolution increases, you can have fewer and fewer colors; 256, then 16, then only greyscale values, the largest texture being limited to 16 shades of grey.
