Sometimes bias makes people illogical. He knows the right thing would have been for Farage to wait for the Standards Committee to conclude its findings and present himself to his constituents to judge. By which time, he would most likely get re-elected, and the damage would have been done nationally. But yeah, a stunt by-election is him vs the establishment he is part of.
