My favorite album for 2025 was just released.
Nicholas Jamerson did something special here. @RachelBaiman helped shape a masterpiece in middle aged wisdom.
I'm biased, sure. Nick and I are about the same age, and I've been following along with him for about 13 or 14 years.
But that's given me the perspective to see him move from songs like "Drunk Right Now" with Sundy Best (which, pure classic and fun as hell live) to see him reflecting on some of life's realities with "The Narrow Way." This album has a WIDE range of emotions.
Not only do we have a no-skip album here. You have a series of just absolute gut wrenchers, heart warmers, and reality shakers.
Nick's doing his best melodies yet on this album, too. So many of these choruses are strong and memorable. I think "How Sunday Feels" is among his best melody he's ever written (cowritten with Rachel, which is no surprise—they cowrote "Vine that ate the South" and that is a HOOK!).
As you'd guess, I'll be sharing MUCH more on this album. But for now, for today, for this moment, I am telling you—hit play. Listen to the words, the stories and feel the emotions. This is real writing.

Nicholas Jamerson just dropped one of my favorite songs by him. As in, favorite ever.
The song was cowritten and produced by Rachel Baiman.
"How Sunday Feels" is about contradiction, hypocrisy and condemnation.
Nick wrote the song out of anger, truthfully.
He recently said this about it:
"This is me voicing some anger. I live in the bible belt and have watched people use Jesus, God, the church to condemn certain behaviors that they themselves are not comfortable with , all while dismissing the planks in their own eyes."
He's also expanded a bit more since:
"In short , I think it’s about contradiction And how we use our beliefs to condemn others.
Often times beliefs , especially in a religious /political context , seem to be more about “being right” than anything else. I think it’s definitely ok to have lines drawn in the sand when it comes to certain things. But to use those beliefs as justification to hold hate in your heart towards someone who doesn’t draw those same lines , is only hurting yourself. Those are the subtle , sneaky ways your heart gets infiltrated."
I think Nick's hooks and melodies are just getting better and better. He cowrote "Vine that ate the south" with Rachel Baiman, and just like that song's killer hook, this one has it.
I don't think it's a mainstream song, but I think it's probably his most mainstream song he's released in his solo career.
What I mean:
• The content is relatable to a wide audience
• The chorus taps into nostalgia so well
• Plays that devil by day, angel on Sunday morning script that we've heard before, even with a plot twist of anger and frustration. This makes it feel familiar.
Everything Nicholas Jamerson drops right now is pure gold. If you're not paying attention to this guy, you're missing out.
He's pouring his heart and soul out right now, and I personally think he's on his way to album of the year.
Yes, Sniper Hunter fans. I said I think Nicholas Jamerson will drop album of the year on September 12.
