@AugieNash I was there with my dad. Can confirm it was miserable. Were ready to leave once Philly got a hit. Obviously, we stayed 'til the bitter (cold) end.
@RepBost Thank you for going on the record to say you support higher prices for your constituents and don't give a crap about farmers. Maybe you don't understand that's what you've said, but voters understand.
@flagstafffilms@Cardinals I'd guess 1954. We see #27 (likely Al Brazle) who retired after the '54 season; his #27 was worn by a coach (Lou Kahn) in 1955. Also see #26 (likely Hal White) -- nobody wore #26 for the Cards in 1955.
@katiejwoo Katie, thanks for mentioning the weather. It is the reason I skipped the Yankees series and many other games. I have no desire to sit outside when the heat index is 100+ or when rain delays are likely. Seems like the home schedule this year has coincided with many awful days.
@AugieNash The 1926 home unis were very plain. The regular season jersey (left) featured the Old English STL on the sleeve; the WS jersey (right) had a different logo and added piping. The roads, however, were great--with green pinstripes and green sock stripes.
@TMASTL I remember when they wore navy on the road, but wore red on the road in spring training...and I used to think, "Wow, the red really pops against the gray. They should keep that look." Still feel that way. Navy with gray is boring.
@Ken_Rosenthal Strange-but-true: Jackson Chourio has 2 career 4-hit games. Both came at Busch (today and 8/21/24). Both games ended with a Nolan Arenado WO HR vs. Trevor Megill. And Ryan Helsley notched both wins; his win today came after giving up a game-tying HR ... to Chourio.
