BirdBear is going on hiatus indefinitely due to twitter api pricing :(

Sorry to report that @BirdBearApp is going on hiatus indefinitely. Twitter inc. has cut off birdbear's free tier api access, which means keeping the app alive will cost $100/month going forward, which is more than I can justify for a free hobby project.

birdbear's bookmark and like syncing should be working again! if you'd been having issues with syncing tweets into birdbear over the last few days this should fix it.
(gory details: twitter made change that affected the way birdbear gets tweets, birdbear is now updated to match)

@Just_Me_Gi Not that I know of but that’s an interesting idea! Looks like the api supports deleting bookmarks, but only 50 a minute. Maybe I��ll add a “live dangerously” mode where it tries to delete as many as it can once they’re saved into birdbear so that later syncs can get older ones

@hevromero i didn't know they limited it in the archive too, that's nuts. wish there was a permanent solution. in the meantime for likes going forward so long as you sync them into birdbear once in a while you should be able to keep them forever, i promise not to delete them!

you know how you bookmark tweets so you can find them again, but then when you try to actually find it again you realize there's no search button and you'd have to just scroll through pages and pages of tweets manually so you just give up and don't bother?

@jsauce7 Glad you liked it and found a way to work with the json! I’m working on adding more export formats to birdbear so that you’ll be able download a csv directly from the app but no eta yet. Will post on @BirdBearApp when it’s ready

@hevromero Hey, birdbear itself doesn’t but unfortunately twitter’s api is limited to retrieving about ~500 tweets so that’s all birdbear can retrieve at the moment. I’m working on something to let you import a Twitter archive into birdbear though, will post when it’s ready
