@Guizmo_the_XV@orangegcn Just cause it looks like shit in real life doesn't mean it should look like shit in a game. Especially when I'm going to be spending a lot of time there
Something not related to the remake I wanted to mention is how I really like how Naoto is an established character early on, building up to her joining as the final party member. Compare this to Haru who just sort of materializes from the aether in the back half.
@TaylorsShelf@ZamielMeiQ The problem with soul hackers 2 is that the dungeons were boring and it lacks many devil summoner mechanics. It's really only a soul hackers game in name only. Not really a fair comparison
@TheRedBlood053@kaimax61@GammaEaglit Yes, but you cannot save in the dungeon and go back to your specific previous floor. You have to get back again. Also The fox requires payment as well further enforcing resource management. There's work-arounds but not a straight up "save anywhere" feature.
@SnickDrag@GammaEaglit "look, feature that trivializes a major challenge in the game, just don't use it" this is supposed to be a strategy game to an extent where you're supposed to plan out your day. You're going to need to use it to play optimally, that's why people hate it.
@kaimax61@GammaEaglit the challenge in the game design comes from the risk and reward of even choosing to enter the dungeon. This removes any challenge that entering a dungeon could have had. With a game like this, even small nuisances can and should affect and come into your mind when planning out.
@kitsuneredFES I don't like button mapping, I'm playing an RPG, I'll have to look through Menus anyways. it's just inconvenient when I'm more used to games like this utilizing one button and the d-pad. The annoying part is I don't even have the option to use a traditional menu.
@FrogChronoTrigr Also worth noting that For a rural town it's also way too clean. While they aren't slums, said towns aren't well known for being in the best condition, that's kinda part of their charm. Here the buildings are kept in perfect condition, everything looks new despite it being old.
@FrogChronoTrigr I hope they never touch persona 1 or 2 now. And that pains me to say because prior to this announcement I actually was really hoping for remakes of those games. Now all I want is for them to make the PS1 and PSP versions to be available. Atlus can't remake their library for shit.
@FrogChronoTrigr I just see this as distracting. That's one of the main reasons I don't really like playing persona 5, I find it really overwhelming to play especially with all the visual noise present in the game. Now that they're doing it with persona 4, I find it more obnoxious.
@ArikGenerick Revival just has physical TV knobs and buttons as part of the UI which just adds more visual noise and changes the look from being a TV program or show to just being blatantly "LOOK, YOU'RE INSIDE THE TELEVISION, OLD TELEVISION AESTHETIC COOL"
@ArikGenerick It's far too on the nose. The UI of original persona 4 is supposed to look like the UI of a TV with menus that you navigate configuring it or channel surfing. Y'know cause they're in a TV world...?
@yuUFO_ It's funny too. They have no argument against us beyond "larp" and posting stupid reaction images. This game looks like hot ass in comparison to a game that came out almost 2 decades ago now when it should be objectively better as a remake.
@mach1bee@lvl1goblin@Deezer_Gaming 70 bucks for a dolled up version of an already perfectly fine game you can get for 20 dollars or less sucks ass and I won't sugarcoat it. What reason do I even have to pick this up over the original? Nothing here looks like a direct improvement or enhancement.
