@lincodega Like if you just want fun, narratively connected battles then this is a good idea. It's also a kind of cure for the "ony one friend ever GMs" semi-problem.
OPR is also vaguely counter-cultural so the story there might interest people here.
@lincodega People are mentioning a lot of story games in the threads, but DnD folks should also ask themselves: "am I sure I don't just want to play a miniatures game?" A campaign skirmish game might be for you. I play with paper minis from Trash Mob. One Page Rules good, frostgrave good
@Suul75@lincodega I've had fun with the recent Savage Worlds Rifts adaptation. It's way more playable but still has the "oh my gort why did you make a six-armed giant psi warrior im literally just a cowboy" vibe
(good at job pc type p good in the new one, it's nice)
@lincodega Players that like the idea of a generic core rules set with many settings may enjoy Savage Worlds. It's wargame-y but doesn't hide it like D&D does. There's even an officially licensed Pathfinder for Savage Worlds for maximum hall-of-mirrors mindmelt.
Given (a) accused abuser Zak S threatened legal action against people discussing him and (b) the timing possibly being a way of centering conversation on him in con season, I have only this short statement based entirely on my own interactions with him:
Christ, what an asshole.
hey since he apparently gets to go on stage at E3, here's your irregular reminder that Mike Mearls enabled and defended harasser and rapist Zak S, who has fucked with the lives and careers of multiple transwomen in the TTRPG industry
D&D is not your friend, happy pride month
