#adhd fact of the day: many adults w ADHD struggle w chronic feelings of guilt or shame, whether it be about friends they've let down, attempts to manage themselves better which failed, or things they said they were going to do that they didn't. Getting support is important!
@Miaseirah I feel like people from split households have been more willing and likely to work on issues while people from 2-parent homes are more likely to either throw in the towel or not put genuine effort into fixing things, tbh. (Just my experience)
@darafaye Wait, I’m confused now. The article you posted says officers posed as sex workers and then caught people trying to solicit sex from them - how is that sex trafficking? It’s a sting operation.
@CityRemoved @darafaye Oh. Huh. I guess when I read “sex trafficking” I think of a person being trafficked, which wouldn’t be the case in a sting operation, but this defines it differently. Looks like people are essentially arguing over semantics and interpretation of a word 😅
@debperry1961 @darafaye There were no women involved because it was a sting operation, I thought? (Based on one of the articles posted- maybe you two are referring to a different article and I’m not on the rig thread?)
This is like a lesson in how to facilitate older people while honouring who they are.
What a class act by @ladygaga with legend Liza Minnelli.
The conferred whispers of "I gotcha" "I know" picked up by the mikes make it especially touching.
I saw someone say that much of what we see as scary about polio is actually “long polio” & tbh that’s pretty true.
I think the “long” framing makes it clear long COVID isn’t unprecedented & that we need to face up to it.
What other long infectious diseases are there?
A list*
@woods_walk@brianklaas Worth noting that 45, awful as he was, DID indeed end up sending the javelins (and other stuff) to Ukraine, though. And that was the first time US sent *lethal* assistance.
Obama also sent assistance, just not offensive weapons, and Biden approved more aid last week.
bizarre how workers quitting for higher wages are called "disloyal" but companies laying off workers for higher profits are called "good business people"
