Beauty in the mundane is defined by pragmatism. Like piennolo tomatoes. They hang like crystals & beg to be touched. But these are not ornaments, they’re hung as a means of preservation. In 6 months time, their pulp will soften and caramelize, transformed into a revelatory sauce
l've always found resin to be the most beautiful and diverse material to create objects with - the combination of its light transmittance, limited weight (about a third of glass), sculptability, and colorways just creates so many incredible possibilities. I wondered what it would be like if I combined it with inflatables, so I tried it out. The last video is the first piece of furniture I ever fabricated, all the way in Rotterdam for a very special client - made of sculpted resin and stainless steel rods.
