A Swedish reporter traveled to Syria and Muslim women and children started throwing rocks at her because she was not wearing a burqa.
For some reason, progressives want this culture all over America and Europe.
Rayner called the Tories “disgraceful” for not repaying their ministerial severance pay upon returning to the cabinet.
Rayner has confirmed she won’t repay her ministerial severance pay upon returning to the cabinet.
Hypocrites of the highest order.
I don’t think most people care about a £2 cap on buses.
I don’t think most people care about 5% vat abolished on electricity bills.
I think what most people really care about is stopping illegal migrants entering our country illegally & getting everything for free.
That’s what most people care about @andyburnham
Am I right?
@AndyJD1978@defencewithac And Bae saab and Boeing already have large manufacturing presence in the UK, and T7 would probely have a far higher UK content.
'What has the BBC ever done for me?'
I'm over 50. A Brexiteer. A climate sceptic. Unwoke.
The BBC treats me with derision and contempt. It loathes me. I do not fit their model of an acceptable viewer/listener
And the loathing is entirely mutual
Four images that are commonplace across Britain:
▪️Rubbish everywhere.
▪️Weeds growing on pavements
▪️1 million potholes
▪️Blocked road drains
We are paying increased council tax and are not getting even the basics of infrastructure maintenance. The decay is everywhere.
In England:
A further 20% cut in business rates for hospitality venues that host live music and events.
In Scotland?
Of course not, because it’s devolved.
So the question is, will @JohnSwinney actually pass this on to help our pubs, clubs and venues…
or will the money just sit in the usual SNP pot, funding more lectures about why men belong in women’s toilets and prisons?
you don't spend decades paying national insurance just to be told your pension is a "benefit."
for millions of britons, it's deferred earnings, not charity.
do you agree? 👇🇬🇧
I don’t want to "download the app" to pay for parking. I don’t want to "create an account" to see a menu. I don’t want to "provide feedback" on a 30-second interaction. I just want to exist in the physical world without a digital leash.
Over in sunny Wales.
The plaid/labour controlled NHS couldn't find jobs for 383 newly qualified welsh nurses and midwives but found 500 jobs for Indian health workers. Unbefuckingleavable.
1918: they sold radioactive water as a health tonic. It was radium, and it dissolved men's jaws.
1898: they sold heroin as a children's cough syrup. It was heroin.
1863: they sold cocaine wine as a daily pick-me-up. Popes and presidents put their names to it.
1946: they sold cigarettes on a doctor's recommendation. Whole campaigns ran on which brand physicians preferred.
1960s: they sold margarine as the heart-healthy fat. It was loaded with the trans fat that actually stops hearts.
Every one of these came with an expert's blessing and total confidence.
The people telling you today which fat to fear are the institutional descendants of the ones who put radium in your water and a doctor's face on a cigarette packet.
"The experts recommend it" has a body count going back a century.
Two months ago if the temperature in my bedroom was 25C I'd have found it unbearably hot to sleep.
But this morning it went down to 25C from about 29-30C yesterday evening and it felt very chilly.
Because I have acclimatised to the warmer weather. Humans are good at doing it!
But don't tell climos. They don't believe it!
Working full time should be enough to live on, even if you're single.
Instead, millions of people are paying full rent, full bills and full living costs on one income, only to be told they're not trying hard enough.
The advice is always "budget better." From people who aren't doing it alone or have had help.
The reality is the cost of existing has gone through the roof.
Ed Davey has asked whether Nigel Farage plans to fund the by-election in Clacton.
My question to Ed Davey is this: has he asked Andy Burnham whether he’ll be putting his own hand in his pocket to cover the estimated £5 million cost to taxpayers of the Greater Manchester mayoral by-election? Or does that standard only apply when it’s Nigel Farage?
If your country wants to control social media algorithms to force people to watch state approved content, then you don't live in a free country anymore.
It's worrying how normal it's become in the UK to work 40+ hours a week and still have no money.
You get paid.
The rent goes out. The bills go out. The food shop gets done.
Then you're left broke 2 weeks after payday hoping nothing unexpected comes up.
We've normalised surviving instead of living.
