These things are complicated and deals take time to sort out. UK officially owns the island though. Fact check yourself.

It's because it's cheap. Sanctioned Iranian crude trades at roughly a $10 per barrel discount to market price.

@moymiz @visegrad24 China needs to stop buying their oil, to start. Tehran earned $35.76B from oil exports in 2024. China accounted for over $32B of it. 80% of Iranian oil shipments move on AIS-dark vessels that turn off their transponders. They get relabeled as Malaysian or Indonesian oil.
