Addis Ababa’s Riverside Development is far more than a riverbank beautification project. From the Entoto to Peacock corridor to the Entoto–Kebena stretch, this is a large-scale urban transformation that extends up to 50 meters beyond the rivers, creating green corridors, public gathering spaces, walkable areas, recreation zones, and commercial spaces that are reshaping the city itself.
What makes the project especially significant is its broader economic and social impact. Beyond improving the appearance and function of the riversides, it has created jobs for many people across construction, engineering, landscaping, logistics, and related sectors, while also generating opportunities for local contractors, suppliers, and businesses. The fact that so much of the work is being designed and delivered locally highlights the growing capacity of Ethiopian expertise in urban development and infrastructure.
The sustainability aspect is equally important. Once dumping grounds for toxic waste and flood hazards affecting communities along the riverbanks, these areas are now being transformed into greener, healthier, and more liveable urban spaces. At the same time, the integration of commercial and public spaces demonstrates how environmental restoration and economic growth can work together rather than compete with one another.
This is a long-term investment in the future of Addis Ababa as a greener, more connected, economically vibrant, and people-centered city.
Brotherhood undeterred, a partnership rooted in trust. During my working visit to the United Arab Emirates, I had the pleasure of meeting with H.H @MohamedBinZayed . Our discussions focused on strengthening the longstanding partnership between Ethiopia and the UAE, expanding cooperation, and advancing regional stability. I appreciate the warm reception and our shared commitment to deepening the friendship between our two nations.
📌 Wow 😲
Apparently past toxic, deranged and often dangerous social media posts from some #Ethiopian diaspora in #US will be deleted and we are likely to see much less of them in the very near future.
And that is REALLY good for #Ethiopia

Today is the day the sun broke through a sky that had been dark for all of Africa and Black people! It is the day Ethiopia triumphed over invading forces who had encroached upon her borders and violated her sovereignty and her people's freedom on the mountains of Adwa. It is the day Ethiopia preserved civilization, which had remained unviolated for three thousand years. Our fore fathers and fore mothers deserve our utmost respect who through the sacrifice of their blood handed down to us an Ethiopia in which we live with pride, alongside a marvellous civilization, history, and great honour.
We, the Ethiopians of today, must sustain the country our ancestors died to build by living in unity and love. Learning from them, we must say ‘No’ to poverty, division, and backward thinking, and transition Ethiopia toward prosperity. The time when Ethiopia becomes even greater than it has ever been, is not far off!
📌 Here is why this will NEVER be a solution.
The c@nc€r0us behavior of #Egyptian 🇪🇬 elites will never let up.
Ever since their humiliating defeat TWICE in 1874/75 at the hands of #Ethiopians 🇪🇹, when they tried to invade it, they have been incubating hundreds of terrorist groups and planting so much poisonous venom to dismantle #Ethiopia and keep us at war with ourselves.
Every secession group, every insurgent that had attempted to destabilize #Ethiopia has its roots in #Egypt since the 1940s.
No trust can be established with an elite that is bigoted, backward and bases its existence on gravesites of others.
#Egyptian political, academic, social, economic and media elites sincerely believe they can systematically suffocate and sniff the life out of Ethiopia and Ethiopians just like how they did it to #Coptic #Egyptians.
Bigotry, combined with Don Quixote-isque arrogance is Egyptian elites' innate character and ingrained habit that they can't let go off to live peacefully with their neighbors.

“PM Abiy” is dog whistle for #Ethiopia.
Remember any criticism or praise of him is indirectly targeting Ethiopia as a whole.
This is not a battle against one man it is a confrontation against the State in case you haven’t already realized it.

News: #Ethiopia earns over $2.6 billion from #tourism in six months
Addis Abeba-Ethiopia has generated more than $2.6 billion in tourism revenue after welcoming over 700,000 international visitors during the first six months of the 2018 Ethiopian fiscal year, the Ministry of Tourism said.
In a statement reported by state media, the ministry attributed the performance to the development of new tourist destinations and the renovation of existing sites. Officials said the growth has made a significant contribution to the country’s foreign currency earnings.
The ministry also cited Addis Abeba’s role as a hub for major international conferences and diplomatic engagements as a key factor behind the rise in visitor numbers and revenue.
The latest Tourism Barometer by the United Nations World Tourism Organization projects that Ethiopia’s tourism sector could grow by 15 percent by 2025, positioning the country among Africa’s leading destinations.
According to the report, Ethiopia’s performance contributed to an overall 8 percent increase in international tourist arrivals across Africa, making the continent the fastest-growing tourism region globally.
The Barometer added that authorities and industry stakeholders have sought to strengthen traveler confidence through expanded investment in hospitality infrastructure, improved service standards, and the launch of the “Visit Ethiopia” digital platform in 2025 to promote the country as a competitive global destination.
Following a civil war, Ethiopia’s economic rebound has been driven by stronger performances in agriculture, mining, and exports.
