Rumours this evening that @DefraGovUK will renege on the manifesto commitment to pay farmers to "protect and enhance our natural environment" are deeply concerning. There is no food security without nature. 1/🧵
The Government's position on fracking collapsing on day one. Real anger from across the House of Commons that they are putting the public through this dangerous, unsafe, expensive charade just to appease the fossil fuel lobby.
So it seems that the UK is leaving @EUI_EU. Negotiations have failed. This morning we received an official letter from the UK Government confirming that the current UK-EUI relationship will end as the interim arrangement closes in December 2022. End of an era.
My God these people have no shame. The EU offered the UK membership of Erasmus, they offered free movement for musicians and performing artists - they offered education and opportunities for our young and our Government turned it all down. Appalling.
Ok, I've been watching the violence and mayhem unfold in Leicester with alarm, as it's bad and could escalate further.
I’ve been warning about such rising tension - imported from South Asia - for years, and police need to get a grip.

"I miss my school." So many Afghan girls do..and parents worry their children are missing out on their right to education. Today marks one year of this loss..365 days ...#LetAfghanGirlsLearn#Afghanistan
Have I got this right? Liz Truss is intending to ‘lend’ us the money to temporarily freeze our gas bills, then make us pay it off in the next 20 years or so? All whilst the energy companies escape a windfall tax and get to make even more obscene profits?
If interest rates go up and businesses are already borrowing surely that will lead to price increases and aid inflation? Keep interest rates lower and it will help businesses and help them keep their prices lower. #inflation#interestrates
@2wheelsgoodBrum Lots of lorries/ tractors/ combines unable to pass by safely (which is the primary concern) with the cycle path a metre over away from the traffic. No issue with cyclists/pedestrians/ motorcyclists at all, just safety.
@let_part Not denying the right of cyclists to use the road, but please be aware of the dangers especially at this time of the year (as per previous message).
@let_part Living in a rural community with no bus service and 8 miles from the major town cars unfortunately are a necessity. There used to be a bus service but was every two hours, now not at all.
@PasserLondinium Sorry past it now, will do next time. It’s only been there about 6yrs and really good condition, I use it all the time as do friends (serious cyclists). It’s separate to the road, is shared with pedestrians (but not often used).
@PasserLondinium All the time, but on a relatively rural road when the speed limit is 50 with combines, baling machines and tractors I fear for the safety of the cyclist. As a cyclist myself I use the cycle path esp in these areas.
