This is the official Twitter account for 'STOP SPEEDING - Bisley Old Road' Group. Our aim is to make Bisley Old Road in Stroud a safe road for all road users.
Please respond to this survey. The new policy aims to respond to the INCREASE in recent years in the number of people killed and seriously injured on Gloucestershire’s roads.
Please be aware that there have been recent reports of items (namely a crowd control barrier) being placed in the road in the dark on Bisley Old Road near the Cadet Centre.
@StroudPolice Well done, I just wish we could get a permanent speed camera on BoR, in the evenings there's regularly drivers doing 40mph & over 😕 it's so dangerous!

This beautiful, inquisitive, rascally, snuggly murder monster crawled into my heart as a tiny kitten & has been my constant companion for over 9 years. Today my gorgeous Lex was hit by a car & killed instantly. To the driver who didn't stop: the wheel turns. 1/3

Great to see progress on resurfacing on BOR. Hopefully this will provide clearer road markings and make the road safer for cyclists 🚴♀️ 🚴 when finished . Thanks 🙏🏼 @GlosRoads #stroud
Thank you 🙏🏼 to @Glos_Police for visiting Bisley Old Road today with TruCam 👍👍👍. Enforcement action like this plays an essential part in making our dangerous road safer. @ChrisNelsonPCC
Yesterday there was yet another incident on BOR. A silver Mondeo hit a push-bike. The car driver did not stop (Sorry - but what is wrong with some people🤬?). The cyclist was hurt. Bisley Old Road is a dangerous road ‼️
@chastownley @StroudPolice Thanks for highlighting. These signs act as good reminders for some road users, but are not effective for all road users. Improved enforcement is also therefore a key element towards a safer BOR.
Two of the food hubs in this article are just off Bisley Old Road. The work the food hubs do to reduce food poverty and food waste is amazing 👏🏼👏🏼. We want anyone visiting the food hubs to be safe and feel safe on their journey.
