Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh said Ethiopia of implementing plans to invade Eritrea.
Eritrea urged the UN Security Council to condemn Ethiopia and take deterrent measures under Chapter VII of the UN Charter.
Abiy Ahmed’s regime is pushing the Horn of Africa toward another devastating war. As tensions with Eritrea escalate into military confrontation, repression and conflict continue inside Ethiopia, while investigations have exposed the use of Ethiopian territory to train and support Sudan’s RSF, with UAE financing and involvement identified by multiple sources.
Millions have been displaced, Sudan continues to suffer, and the growing threat of a wider regional war can no longer be ignored. The financial and military networks sustaining these conflicts must face international scrutiny and accountability.
The time for empty condemnations is over. Severe, targeted economic sanctions must be imposed on those responsible for fueling violence and regional instability. The Horn of Africa cannot remain hostage to authoritarian ambitions, foreign interference, and the war economy sustaining them.
The same question was once asked by journalist Simon Dring during Eritrea’s struggle for independence, around the time of the Battle of Massawa in the late 1980s.
Dring asked whether an Eritrean fighter armed with a Kalashnikov, a few grenades, and determination could overcome the Soviet-made tanks, artillery, and other advanced equipment supplied to Ethiopia.
Eritrean fighter answer was clear: It’s the will of the man that fights such kind of forces, not really the sophistication of the weapons. I hope Hudson’s question has been answered!
"The Ethiopian regime has been pursuing an unprovoked war of aggression against Eritrea for more than three years now in flagrant breach of foundational principles of international law and the UN Charter...'
Letter by Eritrea’s Foreign Minister is very timely and debunks Ethiopia’s allegations on the presence of Eritrean troops in Ethiopia. It states clearly that Poop Party is trying their very best to distract the world from their internal conflicts with 7 alliance groups.
#Eritrea: Foreign Minister Osman Saleh Sends Letter to the UN Security Council;
10 October 2026
1. In its communications to the UN Security Council yesterday, Ethiopia’s Foreign Ministry has formally informed the UN Security Council that it is “taking measures” to implement the war of aggression that it has declared against Eritrea for three-years now.
2. Ethiopia’s deceitful attempts to rationalize its brazen acts of war against a sovereign UN member State in “self-defense” terms is hollow in substance and constitutes an insult to the intelligence of the international community.
3. Ethiopia’s provocative acts of war and regional destabilization had in fact elicited the UNSG and many UN member States to issue coordinated Statements on the 25thAnniversary of the Algiers Agreement in December last year that underlined the urgency and imperative of respecting Eritrea’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
4. But Ethiopia did not only fail to heed these warnings; it has gone further to incorporate and operationalize its long-planned invasion of Eritrea as part and parcel of the huge offensive it has unleashed in northern Ethiopia.
5. In the event, Eritrea requests the UN Security Council to forcefully condemn Ethiopia’s deplorable declaration of war against Eritrea, which will inculcate huge devastation to the peoples of both countries and destabilize the whole region, and take the requisite deterrent measures against it in accordance with Chapter VII of the UN Charter.
