One of the most important debate I ever saw in BTC. Loop and Peter are no different than Udi, they are bad actors, they are worse than shitcoiners! Glad to have @LukeDashjr@GrassFedBitcoin to help to protect BTC!
@th_s4m0ht @maniac94846 Up until Core v30 Bitcoin has never had a feature intentionally designed to host non-financial content. It only had financial features hijacked to hold non-financial content.
Mempool policy doesn't work - it was just sufficient to make 99% of OP_RETURNs smaller than 80 bytes and make the dumpster fire that is Ethereum happen on a separate network from Bitcoin.
Useless!
Who is Bitcoin Core's largest contributor?
Chaincode Labs.
Balaji Srinivasan, co-founder of Palintir, and one of Citrea 's founders, funneled $500,000 through Chaincode Labs to spur development.
In return, Bitcoin Core has identified Citrea as the Schelling point for the removal of OPRETURN limits.
Who is behind Citrea?
People like Eric Wall aka Taproot Wizards. Jameson Lopp. Peter Thiel. Mike Novagratz (remember Luna?), Erik Vorhees, and a numerous cast of Bitcoin Maxis (JK, no Bitcoin Maxis here).
What does Citrea want to do?
Create an Ethereum Virtual Machine with Ethereum like smart contract using ZK rollups.
I'm glad Core is so committed to building on Bitcoin.
This happens when you give an inch to scammers and they feel empowered by your weakness. They won't stop extorting you, no matter how many of their wishes you fulfill.
Did you know that the main reason Bitcoin Core removed the OP_RETURN limit was to help @citrea_xyz use BitVM to allow Ethereum-style smart contracts on Bitcoin?
Citrea’s biggest funder is the same guy who co-founded Palantir…
Do you know what Palantir does?
Bitcoin Core has announced they will remove the OP_RETURN limit in their next release. Many users find this to be an undesirable change for a number of reasons. You can refuse to upgrade and stay on 29.0 or run another implementation like @BitcoinKnots.
