May Socratic Seminar was a huge success, recording our highest attendance yet. The energy, discussions, and engagement were incredible.
We also shared the @fedibtc stickers generously provided by @rsadiqra. Excited to see the community continue to grow. 🎉

LIT: Erick Cestari (@iamflops) dives into the topic of onion message jamming on Delving. Onion messages are distinct from onion payments, as they contain no payment details, just message data.
Onion messages are slated to be shipped in LND's (@lightning) next release, which would make the protocol standard across all lightning implementations and increases the likelihood of use across the network.
Without a payment, there's little to limit the creation and relay of these messages. In his Delving post, @iamflops digs into the options for how to best handle malicious message propagation. While each implementation has its own mitigation for message floods, there's no common method for dealing with them.

I’ve never been this excited about Bitcoin and open source until starting @osguildHQ.
We’re building a new contributor experience: CLI agents that support the open-source journey, a structured 6-week onboarding pathway, and a pay-as-you-learn model that rewards quality PRs.
We’re also developing an integrated knowledge graph tailored to the projects contributors want to work on making discovery, learning, and contribution significantly more accessible.
The goal is simple: reduce friction and unlock a new generation of Bitcoin open-source builders.
Huge milestone for BitDevs Mauritius 🇲🇺 .
We’re now officially listed among the global BitDevs cities pioneered by BitDevs NYC.
Proud to represent Mauritius in this growing network of Bitcoin developers and researchers.
Big thanks to @btrustteam for the support.
How is Bitcoin Adoption Progressing in Mauritius?🇲🇺
Bitcoin adoption in Mauritius is progressing steadily, supported by a clear regulatory framework, its appeal as a financial hub, and growing grassroots community efforts.
A Key Driver of Technical Adoption:
🔷BitDevs Mauritius: This project stands out as a vital grassroots project accelerating Bitcoin adoption through education, development, and community building. The project is part of the wider BitDevs Africa network supported by Btrust, which funds technical communities across the continent.

Next week, the Q2 pathways are set to begin. 🚀
This quarter, developers will be joining Rust for Bitcoiners and Language Clubs.
Rust for Bitcoiners 🦀 is designed for developers who want to deepen their Rust skills. The pathway focuses on building the Rust knowledge needed to engage with Bitcoin projects, with curated resources, structured weekly progress, and support from peers and faculty along the way.
Language Clubs focuses on strengthening programming fluency in languages commonly used in Bitcoin development. The pathway helps developers build the language foundations that make meaningful open‑source contribution possible later on. Participants work through curated learning tracks while learning alongside peers in a supportive environment.
Both pathways emphasize peer learning, structured progress, and practical skill development.
We’ll also be using the hybrid engagement model designed to support more developers without compromising the learning experience. Each pathway will be running in two formats: a live cohort and a self‑paced track, giving developers more flexibility in how they participate while still benefiting from the Builders community.

Throwing it back to our 2025 Year in Review.
2025 was about strengthening the foundation for decentralized Bitcoin development across Africa and the broader Global Majority. After several years of experimentation and iteration, the year marked a shift toward more structured execution; deepening the programs, partnerships, and systems that support open‑source contributors across the Bitcoin ecosystem.
Throughout the year, we focused on building and strengthening the developer pipeline, from discovery and education to mentorship, grants, and long‑term contribution opportunities. Across our initiatives, more than 3,800 developers engaged with Btrust programs and ecosystem activities.
