@0x6aApp@masunobom A retard creating a new spam method that no one uses is harmless. One has to spend money to make it popular enough. Will he spend time and resources only for it to be rendered worthless in the next soft fork? BIP110 is just the first step in the defense against spam.
@kinetic_finance It makes total sense. A 1 year expiration time will make another soft fork necessary. The new soft fork will ban the new spam methods that get popular.
@aeonBTC@mike_4131 I dont think bip110 is a sybil attack, but let's consider it is. The wipeout risk still exists, and the correct way to deal with it is by a URSF.
@mike_4131@aeonBTC No, not worrying about a proposal from a retard like you, of course. But ignoring a proposal with 20% of the nodes, that's a completely different story.
@aeonBTC@mike_4131 It has consensus because there are no implementations that actively rejects it. Your node is completely at the mercy of miners not pointing their hashrate to bip110 and wiping the version you "support". If your version of governance tolerates this risk, then it's broken.
@mike_4131@aeonBTC Wtf you're talking about. This is not only about spam anymore. It's about broken governance. If this bip, which has consensus and no oposition, doesnt pass, it means miners control the network, not nodes. It means bitcoin is just another shitcoin.
@betirement@The_Kazar Naive from you thinking only decreasing the op_return would suffice to fight spam. Every new spam method that becomes popular should be destroyed every now and then. Yes, it's an infinite cat and mouse game. Refusing to play it, as core wants, would guarantee bitcoin death.
@saylor You're knot thinking straight. What about this: the clarity act is postponed to 2030 the same day bip110 activates. Big miners collude to signal bip110, causing a massive reorg and rollbacking transactions. What would be the btc price if that happens?

@CapivaraCorp If you really support big op-return, the only way to 100% guarantee it is by running a URSF node. Otherwise, your blockchain risks being wiped out by the BIP110 chain. You'll be completely at the mercy of miners not switching their hashrate to BIP110.

@MajorianBTC Coretards own and heavily censor every other bitcoin venue (r/bitcoin, bitcointalk, the mailing list), so they kind of pushed the free btc discussion to X. If it wasnt for that, I would have no reason to have an X account.
How a big miner can multiply their btc in a chaotic split scenario:
- sell your spamcoins for btc in the non spamchain
- switch all your hash rate to mine the non spamchain
- wait for the spamchain wipeout and receive back all your coins
- bonus: short btc to hedge the chaos
