Almost every major crypto hack comes down to one thing: keys stored somewhere insecure, often online.

BitGo CEO @mikebelshe makes the case for offline storage with a simple comparison: a million dollars in a briefcase next to you is vulnerable to the room.

The same amount online is vulnerable to anyone, anywhere. That distance is exactly what offline storage is designed to create.

A fintech wants to support a new chain.
An investor wants to hold that asset.
A token project needs help managing its treasury and employee vesting schedules.

At most firms, those are three separate conversations, at BitGo, they’re connected.

Nathan Stump explains how the ecosystem team ties those pieces together, across the U.S., APAC, LatAm, and Europe.

Stablecoins and tokenized deposits are on the roadmap at banks of every size, and the OCC’s final Genius Act rule, effective Jan. 18, adds fresh momentum.

For community, midsize, and regional banks, building the infrastructure behind those products takes serious budget. Frank Wang, BitGo’s Managing Director and Head of North America Fintech Sales, calls us “an easy button” for touching digital assets.

Banks can use BitGo software to manage wallets and custody assets in house, or have BitGo Bank & Trust hold custody as a regulated intermediary. Both options rest on our unconditional national trust charter.

A backup seed doesn't fix a single point of failure, it just gives you two of them.

A single-sig hardware wallet holds everything behind one private key.

Write that key down twice, store them in two locations, and the math doesn't change. One key lost, stolen, or compromised is still enough to lose everything it protects.

Institutions never accept that kind of risk, which is why they use hardened setups to remove the chance of a single point of failure risking their capital.

BitGo now gives individuals that same structure, for free.

There are 20.1M bitcoin in circulation today, and the protocol will never produce more than 21 million.

No vote, bailout, or emergency session can change that ceiling.

Compare that with federal debt at $40.4T and an M2 money supply at $23.3T, both still climbing.

Over the past year, bitcoin’s supply grew 0.8% while debt and M2 grew 7-8x faster.

Happy Friday! ☀️ Your digital asset report is in.

Bitcoin gave back its rally fast this week, dropping from $84,800 to under $82,000 in a day.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in more than $1 billion over three days, even as the price chopped around.

Switzerland’s first retail spot Bitcoin ETF and a new federal rulebook from the OCC round out this one.

Reputation, security, flexibility, and staying neutral in a market full of competing partnerships.

Eugene Hahr, CPO of BitGo, breaks down why institutions choose BitGo for custody, starting with the broadest asset support in the industry and a direct line into new chains before most competitors even show up.

We’re confident the industry is moving in the right direction as a whole to prepare for a quantum/AI future, and institutions and individuals can start reducing their exposure today.

Bitcoin’s security rests on SHA-256 and elliptic curve signatures which researchers have attacked for decades without a practical break, and no AI system has changed that.

If a clear and present danger to SHA-256 ever emerges, the industry as a whole will upgrade to protect ~18 years of work on Bitcoin.

We're not even close to ready to give up on bitcoin, and Chamath will discover how quickly we come together when necessity requires it.

The credible long-term threat is quantum computing, which concentrates on addresses whose public keys were exposed onchain when they spent.

However, the safest key is one the network has never seen. 🔑

BitGo’s Quantum Risk Score shows how exposed your BTC wallets are and we have tools for our clients to easily manage exposure they might have.

Many addresses are at risk today, but with the proper steps quantum resistance is already available.

Kalshi has been hiring an amazing team to take their products to market the right way - excited to be a small part of it and looking forward to what's coming next!

[BitGo @BitGo]

BitGo Bank & Trust is the first custodian in @Kalshi Prime’s HODL Margining network.

Eligible customers can borrow USD against BTC, ETH, or eligible stablecoins to fund margin for perpetual futures without first selling, keeping legal ownership of their holdings, subject to Katalyst’s security interest.

Pledged digital assets stay in segregated qualified custody and cold storage at BitGo Bank & Trust, rather than moving to a third-party venue, so customers can put their crypto to work while knowing exactly where their collateral sits.

A U.S. national bank is now offering tokenized deposits directly to consumers. 🎉

BitGo is proud to support SoFiUSD, the regulated stablecoin that SOFIE holders can convert into 1:1 to buy crypto and move funds onchain 24/7.

Congrats to the @SoFi team on the launch.

That same thinking applies to quantum risk. Exposure concentrates in addresses whose public keys have already been revealed onchain.

The biggest myth in Bitcoin security, according to @mikebelshe that one silver bullet solves everything.

Real protection means eliminating every single point of failure, multiple keys, multiple independent sources of randomness, even physical dice rolls, so no single flaw in a random number generator can compromise a wallet.

Particula, the prime rating provider for digital assets, assigned a pre-issuance rating to $QXMP, a planned U.S. dollar referenced payment token issued through BitGo's Stablecoin-as-a-Service offering.

The assessment recognizes the regulated issuance framework, one-to-one reserve backing, and BitGo’s control framework, supported by independent reserve verification.

[Particula Ratings @particula_io]

Particula assigns an pre-issuance A- rating* to $QXMP, issued under @BitGo's stablecoin-as-a-service offering

Particula assigns a pre-issuance A- rating to the $QXMP token as of September 21, 2026. $QXMP is a U.S. dollar-referenced payment token issued by @BitGo Bank & Trust, N.A. through its Stablecoin-as-a-Service offering, with Quantum Enhanced Ledger Technology LLC (QELT LLC) acting as the program partner and contractual client.

The token is intended to be backed on a one-to-one basis by segregated reserves comprising U.S.-dollar deposits, short-dated U.S. Treasury securities, and government money market funds.

The rating reflects the established issuance framework, including formal regulatory oversight, the one-to-one backing by high-quality, short-dated reserves, as well as BitGo’s operational, compliance, and technical control framework, supported by independent reserve verification.

However, the rating also captures residual risks, including execution risk around liquidity formation and peg stability, and loss absorption beyond reserve coverage, and reliance on BitGo’s integrated offchain controls for critical token functions.
