@RedFoxCrypto@MiningDisrupt Best mining-specific GPU there is! Pretty locked down for everything else, though. Great job on the video! Kel has to take some on-camera pointers from y'all tubers.
@kr00tmantech No 50 series! Nothing too crazy, mostly A2000 & 4000. Notably, we got a single 1060 6GB Asus Dual! Those little guys were everywhere a few years ago.
A little fun with GoPro video from our last trip out west. The beautiful scenery is us loading Octominers. The foggy mountain is Bighorn National Forest in January
@BitsBeTrippin We tried it locally with some of our automation, and it's plug-and-play with OpenAI but a fraction of the cost. There are some response quality issues vs US models. Positive side is that it will hopefully drive the cost down on everything
@mDozatheWakko @BitsBeTrippin After the merge, most miners saw the emperor had no clothes with respect to decentralization. Logical move was to step away from that empire.
Interesting observation: For many, their first exposure to crypto mining was Ethereum during the GPU boom of 2017. After China’s 2021 Bitcoin mining ban, some shifted to BTC. Then Ethereum's move to PoS in 2022 led many miners to abandon it entirely.
This shift likely alienated a significant group—estimated at 600k-1M+ miners during ETH's peak—who once supported the network. It's one factor, IMO, contributing to ETH's underperformance this cycle. You can’t expect miners to pivot to running nodes and maintain the same level of engagement.
@BitsBeTrippin We've met more individual GPU miners than probably anybody and can confirm that the overwhelming majority lost enthusiasm for ETH. I can't remember anyone who got hardcore into staking.
@realcaptaineth@BitsBeTrippin This isn't a bash - just a reflection on a thing that happened. That thing was likely a mistake which can be learned from, but not if people don't reflect.
@GorillaPodcast1 Agreed. But definitely bounced out of $ETC the moment they held their ridiculously low miner profits... still better than $ETH, who just internalized them. Either way, rigs are dead, and the thanks are clearly unwelcome. Moved on - 186 GPUs sold to @bitproitdotcom 💪
@SonOfATech Because community interest and participation are the secret sauce. Your post reminds me of our article written during the ETH ProgPow era - https://t.co/4sXyUp1u4Y
