@lauenmarte "actually your spell is now an AOE that kills your brother" is my hill to die on but i do think she's really funny and i have zero issues with her as a player.
@OlYharnam@widolgast regardless i think unilaterally deciding that a spell is going to kill a PC's sibling on a whim without even advising them about such a ruling beforehand or giving them a chance to retract is a terrible move.
there was like zero agency on Robbie's part.
@caeslxys jester's design is soo sauceless to me. lighter skin and no freckles. bone structure is off. looks wayy too safe and doesn't have the same vibe imo.
The first time I held a pen and ruined my mother’s journal with my first stick man, I knew then that drawing was the only thing I ever wanted to do. It’s only portraiture, but the world to me seemed to become bigger with each visitor that came by the studio, learning from your perspectives about the things we cherish and fight for, no matter the size. Every portrait, a window to the wider world. I mean, have you ever heard of the continent of Tal’Dorei? That’s not on the map! More reasons to keep doing what I’m doing. I’ll always be grateful for the precious gift that is your admiration and support in my sophisticated stick man scribbling.
@caeslxys to me this is one of those cases where DH struggles to be both a PBTA-style system wherein player agency and storytelling are central AND a medium for compelling live play. low stakes can be more rewarding for players. not so much audiences (i think DH viewership reflects that).
@transmogen@IdkButYourDope talk and clarify above table. it often left the cast confused and uncertain and spurred into all kinds of unnecessary tangents.
@transmogen@IdkButYourDope toward a single objective since episode ~30. knowing where they'd inevitably end up if they continued down this thread, i feel like Matt could have paced everything much more tightly. i get very frustrated by his DMing in C3, particularly a seeming lack of willingness to +
@IdkButYourDope@transmogen "500 hours wasn't enough" look sometimes we just have to agree that matt framed and paced c3's narrative very badly compared to c1/c2 because you shouldn't need 10x the length of Breaking Bad to tell that story.
@Kynantapp2@BloodyAntares@criticallyhails Ashley asked if she saw what happened and Matt said yeah. he explicitly described how Fearne saw Laudna put the mask on, saw that it did nothing, and saw Laudna look to Braius. it wasn't metagaming.
@f4irlyregional @caeslxys hmm that makes sense, it was always unclear to me how much of a say the gods really have in the actions of their followers. like certainly Pelor isn't forsaking those who kill in his name, but ... those people could equally have chosen to show reverence through other avenues.
@IdkButYourDope only Braius did that iirc, i don't get the impression that any other member of BH truly gaf if Ludinus lives or dies so long as he doesn't steer the ship.
@colealexart i don't like it from the perspective of 'you shouldn't be able to roll checks like that without the DM's say'. it was an interesting peek into orym's psyche. he projects his own uncertainty i feel. some ppl think it might have actually bothered laura/marisha, i hard disagree.
