@q_mesioye While you are on the right track (Lagos is not the only state with a non-indigenous name), using Port Harcourt as an example is off because Rivers State does not have a central language, much like Yoruba for Lagos.
The problem with Nigerians is when there's a call to boycott sth for certain reasons, a large share of the people involved will not honor that call because they feel said reason is not their "portion."
This leaves those who actually do the boycotting more prone to punishment.
nobody is serving for 77k. it's a requirement for jobs and postgraduate admission, and that's why people do it. the question is why it's required, not why people comply
@ChuksEricE If we were serious citizens, we would boycott this NYSC program nationwide until this kidnapping issue is resolved, but no, prospective corps members still travel far distances with the mentality of "it can't be me" until it also happens to them. Tomorrow, another set will travel

Please we need your help, please retweet and help me tag the authorities that can bring visibility to our case. We lost a life, our sister was killed. What’s going on @PoliceNG@RiversPoliceNG@InibeheEffiong
Nigerians please help us. Please we are pleading.
The United States commends Nigeria's strong response to the latest attacks from Fulani militant groups. We will continue to work with the Nigerian government to protect Christians in the Middle Belt. We urge Nigeria to continue the momentum and defend the Barkin Ladi communities in particular.
Dear Nigerians please don't be scammed by these Bulgarians. They set their sights on desperate Nigerians, they blocked me, so I asked someone to contact them behind, the person said it's a scam site. they are internet scanners from BULGARIA.! Be warned
@ThaddyAsogwa The comments show how most Nigerians enter contracts without understanding it properly.

cordialement,
This Young Man Reached Out To Me That He And His Friend Were Extorted Of ₦82,000 By Officers Attached To The CPS In Onitsha.
According To Him, They Were Travelling From Asaba When The Officers Stopped The Public Bus They Were In, Brought Them Down And Searched Them. He Says The Officers Also Went Through Their Phones But Found Nothing Incriminating, Yet Insisted On Taking Them To Central Police Station (CPS) In Onitsha. He Said That They Were Handcuffed, Forced Into a White Bus And Taken To The Station, Where They Met Several Other Young Men Illegally Detained. According To His Account, The Officers Threatened And Intimidated Them, Accused Them Of Being “Yahoo Boys” And Prevented Them From Calling Their Families To Inform Them Of What Was Happening.
He Further Revealed That The Officers Recorded Videos Of Them And Forced Them To Say On Camera That They Were “Yahoo Boys” After Threatening Them.
According To Him, The Officers Initially Demanded ₦500,000 For Their Release. After They Pleaded That They Could Not Afford It, He Says The Amount Was Eventually Reduced To ₦80,000, With An Additional ₦2,000 POS Charge.
He Said The Officers Took Them Outside The Police Station To a POS Operator, Where They Were Made To Transfer ₦82,000 Before Their Phones Were Returned And They Were Allowed To Leave.
One Of The Victims Was Unable To Record Everything That Happened, But He Managed To Capture Parts Of The Incident, Including Some Of The Officers Faces, As Well As Evidence Of The ₦82,000 Transfer Made At The POS. @PoliceNG_CRU@PoliceNG
