Fantastic opportunity to join a brilliant team (but I may be biased 😁)
I joined a year ago, and have loved being able to use my expertise in a whole new setting, to learn constantly, and to be part of such an exciting project. Take a look! ⬇️👀

@PWGTennant I was replying to the two main points you made in your thread, rather than the causal inference issues, which I'm definitely keen to understand better. Of course, both measures are proxies so I'm sure they share some shortcomings there too, if not all the same ones.

@PWGTennant Doesn't waist circumference have the same issues you raise for BMI? It also has worse problems with measurement error, especially for self-reported measures (which I hope you'll include discussion of in your forthcoming longer piece!).
2️⃣ The NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope snapped this eerie, extremely dusty view of the Pillars of Creation in mid-infrared light using its MIRI instrument – showing us a new view of a familiar landscape.

Unexpectedly beautiful sight this morning of a green woodpecker on the heavily-frosted lawn. A bit like this, except I didn't take a photo and this was generated by the #DALLE2 AI tool

Love to see a bit of epidemiology in the wild (London Paddington station yesterday evening). Can’t say that the people on the concourse seemed much bothered about zoonoses.
