@TedNesi One aspect of the shutdown that everyone seems to have missed is the stranded passengers. Trainload after trainload was dumped at stations along the corridor, stranding people with no plan on how to get them home. Reportedly 1,500 passengers were left at tiny Kingston station.

@AmtrakNECAlerts Here is what is actually happening: one Amtrak employee is handing out a piece of paper with refund info and saying “Sorry, I can’t do anything else to help.” Station is packed with people and nobody can get a ride accepted by Uber or Lyft to a local hotel much less Boston / 128.

@Sally_Sharif1 @projomike I’m having the same experience just with weekly quizzes on AP style for journalism students. We go over the material in class. And it’s open book! They can look up the rules! And the grades are way below what they were when I gave online quizzes.
