The political commentary in India is remarkably selective.

As the Trinamool begins to implode, with MLAs and MPs opting out of Mamata Banerjee’s leadership over her decision to project Abhishek Banerjee as her political heir, disproportionate ink and airtime are being devoted to spinning it as a consequence of the BJP’s rise, instead of acknowledging the deep fissures within the party itself.

When MPs from the Uddhav Thackeray faction consider returning to the Shiv Sena, the airwaves are filled with allegations against the ruling coalition.

But when reports emerge of attempts to engineer political realignments in Tamil Nadu after the elections, including efforts by the DMK ecosystem to poach TVK MLAs, the outrage mysteriously disappears.

The standards change depending on who is involved. Defections are condemned only when they hurt one side and rationalised, or ignored, when they benefit another.

This glaring double standard is precisely why large sections of the public no longer find much of the commentariat and legacy media credible.

Rahul Gandhi was warning of an “economic tsunami.”

The tsunami came — and washed away his latest sinister attempt to malign India.

The latest GDP data shows India growing at 7.7% in FY 2025–26, the fastest among major economies.

Quarter after quarter, India held firm:

• 6.7% (Q1)
• 8.4% (Q2)
• 7.8% (Q3)
• 7.8% (Q4)

Meanwhile, Germany grew at just 0.4%, Japan at 0.8%, the Euro Area at 1.3%, and the G7 at 1.6%.

Even among emerging economies, India outpaced Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, and Thailand.

Auto sales are at an all-time high, manufacturing remains in expansion, GST collections are rising, credit growth is strong, and forex reserves remain healthy. This is resilience, not panic.

The only “tsunami” visible today is the one drowning the Congress party’s malignant thinking.

In Birbhum alone, he recalled how 125 BJP women workers were raped. Across Bengal, lakhs of karyakartas gave everything they had, their time, livelihoods, safety, and in many cases, their lives.

This victory is built on their blood, sweat, sacrifice, and unshakable conviction.

That is why this mandate is sending shockwaves far beyond Bengal. It is not just a change of government; it is the collapse of a deeply entrenched political ecosystem that many believed could never be challenged.

The reason global media, political observers, and the entire ecosystem are reacting with disbelief is because they understand that something fundamental has shifted, not just in Bengal, but in the political consciousness of India.

After Mahua Moitra’s insult directed at Gujaratis, it is now Sayoni Ghosh’s turn to target the Sikh and Punjabi community.

Incidentally, Gujaratis, Sikhs, and Punjabis form a significant part of the electorate in Bhabanipur, the very seat Mamata Banerjee is contesting from. The pride and dignity of these communities are not to be trifled with, and they will respond where it matters most — at the ballot box.

This isn’t an isolated instance. Sayoni Ghosh has previously insulted Hindu sentiments by posting an offensive image involving a Shivling. This pattern of conduct reflects a deeper disregard for faith and cultural sensitivities.
