Rightly or wrongly for Jump racing in Victoria.
It’s not the activists.
It’s not safety debates.
The biggest threat to Jumps racing in Victoria is simple: you can’t bet on it.
And in an industry where wagering pays the bills, if the product doesn’t stimulate turnover… it dies.
That’s the brutal truth.
Matt, we agree. And considering they had a fatality and a nasty fall at the last meeting of the season we wait with bated breath to see what non-action they decide on for next season….
@Voiceof64877458@Mattunchained@heartstopperau@Stevepatrick60 Are you on drugs?? How well the sport was going?? The fall rates? The death rates? The absolute inability to secure a third dividend on basically ANY of the benchmark jumps races because the majority of maidens don’t make it out of that class. Ffs
Simon Wilde trained Galloping Guru fell in his first #jumpsracing trial at Traralgon today and surprise surprise… there is no footage available. Did the horse make it?
Nelson falling in the steeple at #thebool today. Please explain how this is safe. Explain how the sport has improved. How is this ok? #jumpsracing#banjumpsracing. This is his first race back after falling at the same track 12 months ago. HOW IS THIS OK????

@kerstin99266830@bombermurray11 You mean a 10yo horse falling in his first start back, after being out injured for a year following a fall at the same track a year earlier is not a problem for you? And that’s the issue.
!!!IMPORTANT!!! Racing Victoria are launching an extensive Jumps Racing Review in light of the disgusting 2024 season. Public submissions welcome! Share widely among your networks! #jumpsracing https://t.co/M1sGFwDNuj
