This is a LIE: "The law, in effect, gives the same number of green cards for employment to India as it does Iceland."
2019:
India got 13,272 EB green cards
Iceland got THIRTY NINE.
2014: India got 40,859 EB green cards
Iceland got FORTY THREE.

Our success so far has been the result of having information and strategies provided by our D.C. representatives, our grassroots meetings with House and Senate offices, phone call campaigns, and outreach to academic institutions. #StopHR1044
Kudos to @supallofus for their restless fight against the unfair bill(s) HR1044/S386. Without your advocacy, this horrible bill would’ve passed ages ago.
This is the language used by a non-profit organization advocating HR1044/S386, which calls itself “Skilled Immigrants in America“!!! This attitude and language is the reason why you won’t get anywhere with bills like #HR1044
3/7 Pizza delivery guys from Iran, taxi drivers from Somalia, nurses from Philippines all will continue to get green card 100 years before engineers, scientists and doctors from India because country of birth is the most important skill needed for these jobs! @SenTomCotton
To our Indian brothers and sisters stuck in the unfair GC backlog, we see you and we are genuinely sorry for your suffering. We know it’s not your fault, but #HR1044 wasn’t the solution. Next year, let’s join our forces to push for real changes that benefit all of us.
Yes! No one is happy to see people suffering. Yet, HR1044/S386 was, and will never be the solution. The bill would’ve never solved the backlog but changing the composition of people stuck in it. So, suffering wouldn’t go away. We need a better solution.
@DocFromCali Let me be clear (again)- I abhor country caps. I am against them because I think they're immoral. Period. I regret that the pain of inadequate quotas would have to impact others, but that doesn't justify discrimination.
.Immigration Voice goes after @RepZoeLofgren –bragging they tried to get @RepJudyChu@RepGraceMeng & @SpeakerPelosi
to accept the new Chinese Exclusion Act in a backroom, so they attack their strongest ally: “the only person who failed this bill is *Rep.Lofgren* herself.”
RT!
The ZERO SUM per country bill has failed, AGAIN. The All of Us strategy-developed by Bruce Morrison, the author of last green card increase-proves when the problem is NOT ENOUGH, the answer is MORE. Looking forward 2 solving the backlog in next Congress.

@anirb_das Funny how you describe #HR1044 was “the best” reforms to stop H1B abuse. You confirm that Indians abused H1B and “the best” way to stop that was to reward abusers with GC. I guess now you will keep abusing the H1B program.
The unfair bill HR1044/S386 is dead 👏👏👏
But for now. Stay vigilant as the IT industry lobbyists will bring it back in the new congress. Our fight to protect American workers as well as the integrity of the immigration system will continue...
#StopHR1044
It’s true and will get even worse if HR1044/S386 is passed. @HouseDemocrats and @SenateGOP should protect American people not the interests of the IT industry. #StopHR1044
@ColumbiaBugle@LaurenWitzkeDE American kids attend college & accrue massive debt, then biz imports H1-B immigrants who work like slaves to stay here, taking the position those college graduates would have filled. These are sadistic policies that serve both the elite GOP & Dem politicians. They hate us all.
