@JackFritzWIP Yes, we all know the numbers from the top of the lineup…but there’s a very real conversation to be had that in spite of that, this series is flipped 2-0 in the other direction with a manager who had a better feel for the moments.
@TommyKelly44@BirdsSooners 100 percent correct. A manager who has absolutely no feel for the moment…can’t voluntarily hand the Dodgers an out there when you have all the momentum, not to mention the slowest runner on your roster on 2B. But that’s Rob, whatever the computer says I do.
@JackFritzWIP A manager who has absolutely no feel for the moment. All the momentum on your side and you voluntarily hand the Dodgers an out, with the slowest runner on your roster on 2B no less. There’s a time to sacrifice bunt, and there’s a time not to.
@Pat_Egan Absolutely no feel for the moment. There’s a time to sacrifice bunt, and there’s a time not to. All the momentum on your side, slowest runner on your roster on 2nd base…cannot voluntarily hand the Dodgers an out there.
@JackFritzWIP@SportsRadioWIP Let’s go back to a 40 year-old relief pitcher who can’t throw strikes to start the 7th inning of a game of this magnitude - brilliant managing.
@SpikeEskin Big difference though, Spike. One was a comfortable home series against a team you won’t see again. The other a road series against a fierce rival where you were going to need some fire and fight to - this team and its manager showed they have neither.
@KevinCooney There won’t be. This team and its manager want to win, of course. But neither has the fire to fight for it. No greater example than this series. If they win, great. If they don’t, oh well, that’s baseball. That’s this manager and his players’ attitudes.
@JackFritzWIP Do they want to win? Of course. But no series over the last few years has exemplified the indifferent attitude of this manager and many of the players on this roster more than this one. There’s just no fire there. Not anymore anyway.
@JackFritzWIP He’s got absolutely nothing to offer out there. Even scarier than how bad he’s been this season is…5 years and nearly $125 million left on his contract.
