My favorite memories of the school year include holiday sing because of the excitement I see on the students’ faces while they are performing. I am also very touched whenever a student tells me how much they love music. Viva la musica! #lastdayofschool#engageD64
This Twitter challenge has helped me to better connect with my fellow educators by allowing me to see what great ideas people have out there. It has also reminded me that I have a wonderful resource for sharing the things I’m doing in my classroom! #twitter#engageD64
I’m looking forward to a lot of things this summer. I love to hike and take photographs. Most of all, I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with my family, and “recharging” my battery! #engageD64#summer18
There a lot of great online resources for teachers. My favorite is from NAfME (National Association for Music Educators). Subscribers have access to a slew of articles and great teaching tips for general music teachers! #engageD64#educhat#nafme.org
I am so lucky, and grateful, to have the best family and friends that one could ask for! I am also lucky to be able to work in the field of music with great students and staff! #luckypennyday#engageD64
Music inspires me to express myself in ways that I can’t do with words. It is a universal language that unites ALL of us! I love all instruments, but my favorites are percussion instruments :) #engageD64#musiced
I love reading a book to my students called “The Remarkable Farkle McBride” by John Lithgow. It is about a fictional young boy, a musical prodigy, that masters numerous instruments. It fits in nicely with our study of musical instruments/instrument families! #engageD@JohnLithgow
I have been greatly inspired by three teachers. Dr. Sam Reese, who taught me what it is to be an excellent teacher. My wife, Nancy, with her passion for teaching, and Colleen Carlson, who brings energy and enthusiasm to her job every day. #EngageD64#TeacherAppreciation
I am really excited to introduce instrument families to my kindergartners, to hear my first graders present “symphonies” that they have composed, and to listen to the progress that my second graders are making on ukuleles! #engageD64#NationalTeachersDay
