Sometimes Mondays are very good, especially when the first thing I hear from is Canada Protection Plan letting me know my 253 claim has been approved and cheque is on its way. “Claim has been approved. A cheque will be courier’ed out shortly as per your instruction.”
Another death claim I found out about today. Beneficiary called telling me her 59 year old husband passed away in his sleep. Was approved by Canada Protection Plan in December 2022. I hope CPP handles this as fast as Manulife handles claims. Already called CPP started claim 253
The Manulife Claims Department based on my experience has set the bar very high. Less than 24 hours and claim approved with instructions sent to the department that issues the cheque to courier to me so I can personally hand deliver this to the widower. I wish all did that
Tough way to start a Monday morning but not as tough a day for the widower that sent me an email letting me know his wife passed. Last summer we did a term conversion so the coverage would last and only months later at age 64, extremely fast metastatic cancer took her away . 252
