What’s the clearest sign that people hate using data tables? Whenever we provide a table we MUST also include an export option which allows the user to take their data and bring it into Excel.

Having a visible, controlled clock requires more stoppages in play and hurts game flow.
Plus I enjoy that there is flexibility in when a half ends. Allows attacking play to reach a conclusion, adding drama and opportunities for scoring.
@kylesheldon Also, watching Concacaf qualifying over the last 20 years has shown me seeing a team succeed in a low block is interesting for 1 game. Seeing it over and over again is bad viewing experience.
@kylesheldon Not sure yet. It’s always been great. Lots of good individual games, but seems there’s a bit less drama/danger in group stages this time. I think game 3s and rd of 32 will determine if 48 is better.
Going any higher feels like it would be too much soccer - less special.
Here is one reason system design can be so tricky. Brittlenesses may exist that don’t get exposed during traditional testing. You may not feel their effects for months or years, until it’s too late.

@MPFrazer You cannot win in baseball with 2 or 3 great players and a bunch of ok players. Even if the pirates spent 100m per year each on ohtani & Skenes, they don’t have enough of a team around them to make a run.
As we enter the #Worldcup2018Russia knockout rounds I have a proposal to replace penalty kicks to resolve tie games.
1 player from each team proposes increasingly difficult free kicks ‘Name That Tune’ style. 1/2
@THEChrisKessell They hope big names bring fans to teams, but it’s temporary. It’s not the nfl / nba, where the best teams play in this country with little competition those leagues really only compete with colleges. It’s competing with better leagues and established teams around the world.
@THEChrisKessell One thing mls fails to see is how regional the soccer market is. If you don’t live in a town with an MLS club you have little reason to care about it. Why watch it over premier league? I live in Pittsburgh and cheer for the riverhounds and for Bournemouth.
205 years ago today, three brave Americans defeated El Guapo at the Battle of Santa Poco to give Mexico its independence.
Happy Cinco de Mayo to all who celebrate.
There’s no need for AL and NL anymore. Also, keep the Chicago teams apart and Milwaukee with one of the Chicago teams.
Pittsburgh and Cleveland are not Mid-Atlantic.
NBA lottery would be replaced by event where they go through teams 1x1 to see if they stick in their spot. Odds are maybe 1-3 teams drop each year. Adds a potential punishment rather than potential reward for losing.
New idea to stop nba tanking: Reverse lottery.
Every game a team finishes behind the play-in spot adds .5% chance of dropping to the end of round 1.
Washington would get 1st pick but have a 13% chance of going 30th.
