Held talks with British High Commissioner to Kenya Matt Baugh, State House Nairobi.

Our discussions focused on strengthening Kenya-United Kingdom relations. We agreed to leverage the Kenya, UK Economic Partnership Agreement to expand trade, investment and shared economic opportunities.

Briefed the High Commissioner on the implementation of the National Infrastructure Fund and explored areas of partnership to accelerate our national transformation through strategic investment.

We also reaffirmed our commitment to regional peace and security, recognising that stability is the foundation of shared prosperity and sustainable progress.

In Oslo, Norway together with H.E. @EspenBarthEide, Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, I signed two important agreements aimed at deepening cooperation between our two countries.

The first, a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Peace Mediation and Conflict Resolution, will enhance knowledge sharing, capacity building and collaboration in advancing peace and stability.

The second, a Statement of Intent under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, commits both countries to advancing climate action through innovative market-based approaches that support sustainable development and emissions reduction.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by H.E. President @WilliamsRuto and H.E. Jonas Gahr Støre, Prime Minister of Norway, underscoring the growing strength of Kenya–Norway relations and our shared commitment to building a more peaceful and sustainable future.

President Ruto’s first day of the State Visit to Finland has already delivered strategic agreements on education, digital innovation, climate action, healthcare, trade, & investment. In recognition of his leadership, he was also awarded the Helsinki City Medal.

Key outcomes:

Education – Equipping more young Kenyans with skills for the modern workforce through enhanced collaboration in technical & vocational training, teacher development, competency-based learning, & educational innovation.

Digitisation & Innovation – Creating new opportunities for youth & entrepreneurs by expanding cooperation in digital public services, emerging technologies, secure connectivity, & innovation ecosystems.

Healthcare – Improving access to quality healthcare through increased collaboration in universal health coverage, maternal & child health, mental health, medical research, & local pharmaceutical & vaccine manufacturing.

Trade & Investment – Creating jobs & unlocking new economic opportunities by strengthening commercial ties, expanding business partnerships, & attracting investment.

Climate Action & Green Growth – Building resilience to climate change & supporting sustainable development through stronger partnerships in the circular economy, bio-economy, environmental sustainability, & resource efficiency.
