@AozDemt@maxstephhh@alanshearer Yes, there will always be an accusation for bias for any big team and star.
I doubt fifa’s intentions as an organization and I doubt Infantino (especially after he said - his heart ached for Argentina after the CPV game) but I completely trust the referee on the pitch.
@AozDemt@maxstephhh@alanshearer Appreciate you saying sorry mate!
My point wasn’t really about the foul. I was just trying to say that there’s still a small difference between the arsenal foul vs the Egypt foul.
I don’t disagree about it being a foul.
@jimtumwine1@maxstephhh@alanshearer I’m not talking about whether it’s a foul or not. My point is that the comparison is flawed.
Imo - the Egypt goal was a foul.
@AozDemt@maxstephhh@alanshearer Calling me a dumbass without even understanding my point. What does that make you?
I never said the foul call in the Egypt game was wrong.
I just said that comparing it to the Odegaard foul was stupid. My ask was - provide a better comparison if you’re trying to make a point.
@AyoOyalowo@maxstephhh@alanshearer Yes, this is a really good comparison. Not the arsenal v man united game.
My point is, if you’re comparing, pick the right game!
@Nyingaa@maxstephhh@alanshearer I’m saying that the two scenarios aren’t the same and shouldn’t be compared.
Check the South Africa v Nigeria incident - that’s a better example, but not from the PL.
@_brainiacFX@maxstephhh@alanshearer Yes, this is definitely a better comparison.
My point was not about whether Egypt’s claim was fair or not.
My comment was simply that the Odegaard foul and the Egypt foul cannot be compared.
@DeDeukans@GoatMo_ The dumbness in the logic astounds me.
So if an Egyptian fan really wanted to do something bad, they’d just have to wear an Argentina kit and they’d be let in? Beats the whole purpose of checks. 🤦♂️
Either check everyone the same or don’t - unless your goal is to discriminate
@ESPNUK The only reason La Liga players might fare better is because they barely break a sweat in their league that they’re fully charged and ready for the World Cup.
Premier League players toil week in week out whether they play the top team or a team facing relegation
@Kamanana64@TheSportzine@King_Fut 1. Players cover their mouth when talking to teammates because otherwise the media will speculate and write about their conversation the next day. It’s ingrained into their system to cover their mouths.
2. & 3. Fair question, fifa probably needs to investigate.
@AllAboutME_Show@ChiCityBrian Did anyone from Portugal call up FIFA a few days before their 1st game to change Ronaldo’s suspension?
While the Ronaldo decision was wrong, there’s no comparison between that & Balogun getting red mid WC and FIFA suspending it day before the game, because the president called
@_Afcbanks They’ve signed him as the third choice keeper (for now). And for free.
He’s a keeper with experience who comes for free. His mistakes don’t matter because he won’t be on the pitch to make them!
@KylePagan_ We can win the wc even in 2030 (we’ll need all the luck) but if the goal is to become a soccer powerhouse, then it’ll take us 30 years.
We need to improve the grassroots level, restructure MLS as a pyramid, and in the meanwhile have our players play for the best European teams.
@Abtilibaan Not really. Salah’s touch wasn’t the best, and Marmoush was next to him so he decided to take it forward. If Salah had controlled it better, Marmoush wouldn’t have taken it from him. That said, it was a terrible pass - if he’d done it right, that was the game right there
