Guentzel is great, until Pius Suter is his C when one of Petey or Miller get banged up.

More stability in the center position. If they want Guentzel too, better get the 9.7M wingers (mikheyev+garland) out of your bottom six.

@taj1944 Good teams have more than 2 C’s in top six. Tocchet didn’t roll it out often, but he also had a ghost for a 1C since Lindholm arrived.

I vote sign Lindholm. If they want Guentzel, Garland/Mikheyev = 9.7M in bottom 6

@Sportsnet650 @BikNizzar All for getting GUENTZEL, but something to consider, who plays center when/if JT or Petey miss time to injury. Nothing wrong with having centers play the wing, lots of teams do it. They wouldn’t have made it out of first round without Lindholm since Petey ghosted for 3 months.

Tocchet preference was playing Miller, Petey and Lindholm at center, but what if they go and get another 3C via trade/FA and bring back Lindholm.

@mattsekeres Miller might have to be Petterssons new winger (or vice versa). Not a lot of great options out there on FA. Trade would be an option, but then more assets out there door. Lindholm will fill a steady 2C/3C role the entire duration of the contract depending on Tocc deployment.

@k17akk @taj1944 @sekeresandprice Feels like Hronek knows he can get 7.5M-8M if it goes to arbitration. Doesn’t seem as if VAN values him that high $.

Necas has the tools to become one of the elite players in the league whereas I think we have seen Hronek’s ceiling (more or less), which is a good fit in VAN
