@FabrizioRomano Maybe the FA need to administer some hefty fines and a nice suspension for him to show he isnt above them. Or maybe we understand that he is.
@PGMOL_FA can you please clear up what the rule is? I have now seen Gakpo taken out in the box after he’s released the ball, no pen, yet similar circumstance last week was a pen. We are not seeking perfection, just consistency.
At the beginning of the tournament, if you had offered England a semi-final exit, they would have bitten your hand off. Now it’s back to finger pointing and laying blame. Rinse and repeat.
@StanCollymore Stan, it’s only slightly better here in Australia. God forbid your kid makes it into pathways or gets selected to represent the state, parents are on the hook for a small fortune.
This was the champions of England against the champions of a farmers league and yet, if you didn’t know better, you would pick Arsenal as the farmers league champions. Overall Arteta’s tactics were mediocre at best and at worst his failings were on full display against a genius.
Hearing pundits commend Arteta for the tactics he used against PSG is ludicrous. Facts of the matter are that Arteta spent over 1 billion pounds over his time at Arsenal to build that squad. That included over 100m in attaching players just in the January window.
Now we are meant to commend him on 25% possession and a single shot on goal in 120 minutes. Most teams reach a final maybe once in a decade if they are lucky, and we are led to believe this display was the best he could produce on the day.
There was enough attacking talent in that Arsenal squad to take it to PSG and make a game of it rather than sit back with 11 players in the defensive third for 90 minutes of the full 120 minutes.
